For me, .com is enough to signify that it is a commercial company. Remember, length is a key factor in determining the value of a domain name.

I can see why Citi Bank would change from CitiBank.com to Citi.Bank, especially considering the security practices of that TLD operator but I don't see CitiBank changing to CitiBank.Company.

We shall see..

Things might change where it is completely normal to type in .company at the end of a company's name. You might be right and I might be wrong. Time will tell.

But as for Google and Alphabet, I think their main goal is to re-brand under the Alphabet, and the easiest way to do that is to use .XYZ as the .brand extension for Google's parent company, Alphabet (+ sub-companies).

But there is a chance that they would use other extensions like .company to promote the overall nGTLD industry since they are set to become a major player. That would make sense. But the nGTLDs will be a dying trend unless someone breaks the Verisign Triopoly. The only extension that can do that is .XYZ, with the help of Alphabet and a favorable ruling in China.

This actually made me realize that the nGTLD industry might increase type-in traffic. That is if more of the right companies / people secure the appropriate names. Increasing the annual renewal fee for valuable domains actually increases the chance that they will be purchased by a "valuable" company or individual.

Money isn't everything but it can be a filter for credibility (at least in the finance sector and business world).

Thanks for the video. I watched it. @Almarri.Company

I think single word domains will dominate on TLDs like .com, .net and .xyz since you cannot have a single word by itself on a "meaningful TLD" like .company. But it does make sense to register Google.Company instead of GoogleCompany.com or GoogleCompany.xyz.

ANOTHER EXAMPLE:
- Chris.xyz can encompass anything, as long as the person is named Chris. The demand will be higher and the supply is one Chris.xyz. (the demand will be higher than a 2 word domain)

VS.

- Not including aggressive marketing efforts by .Law, the demand for Chris.Law would be lower since not every Chris in the world is a lawyer or practices law but the supply is still the same, one Chris.Law.

This is basic supply/demand and it doesn't include the point that a single company in a sector usually dominates (i.e. Google for search, Facebook for social network, iPhone for phones).

Because of supply/demand so far the market can only support 1 extension with relatively high sales prices.

So far this has been .com

If word1.word2 becomes accepted perhaps these could command the same prices as word1word2.com. I think it's unlikely but let's pretend it will happen.

Anything else will always be much lower. To get an idea one can simply look at .net sales prices.

They suck and always did suck except for a very few ultra-premiums.

.xyz will never command high prices unless it is the main and leading extension in a market. It is not enough that there is good demand, there is good demand for .net too but that alone is not enough.

Your always happiest when you laugh.
What is the reg fee on your names?
I see normal pricing is reasonable

There's a reason when the registry dropped at least 10+ one letter .company names a month ago that I did not bother picking up for registration fee (premium domain). A fluke sale in my opinion.

For me L $500 per yr , i see that price so normal . Better than L of .XYZ around $64,000 per yr

my opinion i saw the renew $500 same as $1 for the large companies .

Car.Company $500 per yr so normal

there's other domain name $400, $130 , $90 $45 $15 $5 .

Bro Sam if you saw some people dropped the L .company and you don't get them because you don't believe so keep do what you believe , in my case i believe some of those companies can be interested of them .

The most important do what you believe and accept in the future what will happen if you win or lose .

for me i will accept what it will happen no problem for me because i believe of them there are amazing meaning and correct 100% i will be happy and i enjoy with this type of extension .company the money go and back :)

I don't think they are going to stick with X.company.
What we can see is that Google are using a lot of different extensions + subdomains under .google.com + ccTLDs (they use them extensively for the various localized versions of their famous search engine).

There is no clear branding strategy, it looks more like individual experiments. What would make sense from my POV is that they use .google and consolidate sites under their own extension. Right now, they are diluting their brand in lots of different projects.
Perhaps they just don't want to associate their name yet with future failures :) I'm saying this, because they (like other companies) have killed/retired a lot of projects over time.
They also use a .news domains don't they ?

But as for Google and Alphabet, I think their main goal is to re-brand under the Alphabet, and the easiest way to do that is to use .XYZ as the .brand extension
You are still very much infatuated with .xyz.

Even if they did, doesn't mean end users/developers will follow. There are never enough copycats to bring critical mass.
In fact, even new TLD operators are disillusioned today, because they realize the present is grim and the future not so bright. New TLDs are not gaining momentum, I don't think they will ever be mainstream because the demand isn't big enough. New TLDs are a dream for the most part.

Yes! Almarri feels good to see that happening. We've invested a lot on the .Company, a domain extension that says it all for companies and businesses. Feels good each time I see my .Company portfolio such:

Stock.Company
Luxury.Company
Rental.Company
Men.Company

www.Get.Company already lunched and serving
And hey, for the record, you beat me on Women.Company ..Congrats!

SolveforX.com was a "great name" too.
Let's be real X.Company says it all. It's a perfect domain name for a company that calls itself X.

So far this is the only .company I know sold. Maybe this will bring more inquiries to the .company extensions.

Cheers.
