RE: Autonomous & Driverless car domains

Seems like there's a lot of news lately, as recently as the last few days, of advances in driverless & autonomous cars. There are multiple auto makers getting ready to launch some form of these cars, and of course, Google is working on their project car.

I have a handful of domains related to this news & technology, and I am wondering if anybody else has any? Also, any spike in traffic to your domains, or news of sales???

Elon Musk says fully self-driving Tesla cars already being built

All new Tesla models are being built with hardware to enable them to be fully self-driving, Elon Musk has announced.

The company has said its Model S and Model X electric cars are already being produced with the new system, which includes eight cameras, 12 updated sensors and radar with faster processing.

I have done quite a bit of reading today regarding terminology for this niche as it remains to be known what the public will call these vehicles. There have been many studies done on the knowledge and acceptance of the public towards this niche over the last few years and some interesting reading available if you are curious.

I own a few names with "autonomous" however I really do not see this being the accepted term as it is rather scientific/technical. I also own several names with "driverless" however the reality is these vehicles will not be driverless for many years due to technology, legislation, etc. In the short & medium term there will be these vehicles that will be somewhat autonomous, not quite fully automated and still not driverless.

Did you catch that phrase I threw in there? Not quite fully automated... as in semi automated. That's my prediction on the mainstream accepted term. And so after my reading and pondering and research I am now the owner of the following:

semiautomatedvehicle(s)
semiautomatedcar(s)
semiautomatedtaxi(s)
semiautomatedbus(es)

I may be completely off or I may have hit the nail on the head, we wont know for a few years.

Just throwing this one in there as well. The one term you forgot to throw in the mix was "self-driving" and robo domains have started to make a brandability apprearance.

Whichever becomes the chosen main keyword, got a feeling sales will be created across various keywords, so a little portfolio variation in this niche is probably the best way to go.

Good luck ;)

Personally I don't care for the robo prefix and I don't like hyphens... just my preferences

Another angle, but not suggesting this will work. Telsa are now being quoted in various articles over the last 2 days as being supplied with full "autonomy" for all vehicles.

Nutonomy have made a play already on this word when naming their self-driving taxis.

For a little gamble I added:

Autonomy Taxi (.com)
Autonomy Bus (.com)
Autonomy Truck (.com)

A few other relevant "Autonomy" domains were already taken.

Fair enough, selfdriving doesn't need to have an hyphen though.

You said you read lots of articles. Self-driving gets more than it's fair share of mentions, probably the most used term in articles. Google also branded their cars with the term.

Each to their own, but I would not bet against selfdriving having a chance.

Out of the two terms driverless & selfdriving the latter sounds the least dangerous. It's worth noting that Telsa just got ordered to drop the term "auto pilot" because it was seen as being misleading and potentially a dangerous message to portray to cargo/humans.

Definitely not counting out self-driving as I have a couple of those too. However, self-driving may fall in to the same legal pitfalls as auto pilot and regulatory blockades that driverless will face for a considerable time.

It's all speculation of course but it's nice to throw around ideas and banter back and forth.

Tesla Motors’ Self-Driving Car “Supercomputer” Powered by NVIDIA DRIVE PX 2 Technology

Tesla Motors has announced that all Tesla vehicles — Model S, Model X, and the upcoming Model 3 — will now be equipped with an on-board “supercomputer” that can provide full self-driving capability.

The computer delivers more than 40 times the processing power of the previous system. It runs a Tesla-developed neural net for vision, sonar, and radar processing.

This in-vehicle supercomputer is powered by the NVIDIA DRIVE PX 2 AI computing platform.

NVIDIA DRIVE PX 2 is an end-to-end AI computing system that uses groundbreaking approaches in deep learning to perceive and understand the car’s surroundings.

Our deep learning platform is open and lets carmakers first train their own deep neural networks on GPU supercomputers. Once loaded into the car, it processes the networks at high speed to provide the real-time, accurate response required for autonomous driving.

DRIVE PX 2 is in full production.

If the industry is looking for a uniform identifier, I am partIal to SDV. Like SUV, CUV, EV, etc. Camry SDV, Fusion SDV, Altima SDV. We've had LS, XLT, LE model identifiers forever. I'm banking on SDV.
