In view of my lack of success with domain parking services, I've started to set up a variety of mini-sites for some of my names. I created a URL shortening site to help me with posting links. One of the options on this site is to insert an interstitial in the link. I wondered if it was worth doing this to indicate that the name may be for sale, and to link to a purchase facilitation site. Has anyone tried this, or maybe used a popup as an alternative?

Thanks for posting that link, and I had read it. I think it is best to avoid this where the surfer is on a mobile. It would also appear that one should only use a quarter page or smaller. It's also not clear which site(s) gets penalised. The referring site, the forwarding site, the target site or the sites on the interstitial. I am only thinking of using it on domains where the name is for sale, and the content is fairly basic.

I guess the real question is how it will affect advertising revenue. Depending on the domain name, the traffic could be fairly targeted, and therefore good for advertisers.
