I know I picked up some crappy domains.

But, I think I also picked up some potentially profitable domains. I don't want to say what they are because I want to prep to pickup more (for the next $1 sale).
If anyone wants to plan a domaining conference, I picked up DomainNamesExpo.

It will eventually be for sale here on NamePros unless I sell before I list it here.

@SammyLee, seems that the sales are surprise sales. Best thing to do would be to make sure that you get emails from them - that's how I was alerted of the sale. I don't think they even announced it on twitter or on their website.

Well, I'll update this thread if I get any other emails. I'd hope that others will do the same if they get emails.

Maybe with each sale, they only send emails to some customers, rotating the group of customers each time.

The sale made me some prophets. I bought 300 domains for one guy and he gave me 10%, so I got $30 :D which I spent on my own reg's there :D.

I don't like that they limited it to the US... that makes 0 sense. Tbh Idek why? Seems pretty racist. I understand why Europe limits sale to EU because of like the VAT and whatever laws they have over there with registrars.... but Name.com has always catered to the whole world. Makes 0 sense they would lock this sale to America...

But I am happy that it brought "business" in for US citizens who could reg for EU and Asia peeps :D :D.

I wish it was a set time, as well... I didn't have time to search for available domains I wanted. I had a small list, and bought many domains, but there are better quality ones that I want to register now. (I have a new list.) Maybe they will have another deal soon, or on Black Friday.

well as soon as the deal was made known in chat, my NP EU friend asked me to do it for him. But ofc I assumed it was just me reg'ing and him paying the total... but he gave me $10 extra.

Then after I did that, I was approached by 2 other people who both offered 10% of total price. It felt like a lot of work (because I didn't know about bulk buying for Name.com, and didn't know you could click off whois with one click rather than just X'ing out the 4.99), so I kinda denied one... but then took up the other guy's offer, and he's the one who ended up buying 300.

That's why Imadoer tells all the new members to have a list of domains ready for the next 0.99 sale. He says to make up some hand regs, then wait for the sale to buy.

I didn't like the advice because what if my handreg's get taken? I noticed that during the sales days, some of my handregs get taken that day. So it does happen, but in the long run it's very good advice. You might lose valuable domains waiting for a sale, but you do end up reg'ing valuable domains too.. and for only $1.

Up above the total in your cart there's a thing "Include whois privacy" just check it off and all the 4.99 gets checked off!!

Yea I just recently started to create an "eehhhh" file. you know domains that you are not so worried if you get it or not but a part of your guts tells you it's that's got that 99% chance to sell for $100 or more but if you reg it for $8 part of you feels it's "risky" lol
