I've been bombarded with phone calls day in and day out regarding each domain name I register.
It's always someone with an Indian Accent(no offense Intended-just my experience).

It's usually about them trying to sell me seo services, web development etc... and even when I say no, no,no no thank you, no no,, stop calling... they keep calling.

It seems to be the same thing happening via email...

Am I the only one experiencing this?

I know India is taking off now into the domain space and has always been into tech. I have had people from that region do good work for me before. But with that being said.. if you read this and know anyone doing this.. please you gotta know how to act.. Put some integrity in your business.

I'm not sure of the right way to look at this, but i guess I'm just annoyed. Maybe I should change my whois number to 911 or 411 or to a sex hotline. I may just do the last idea(maybe for a week).

I've literally stopped answering any numbers that aren't already saved in my phone because of them, I notice they never seem to leave a voicemail either. Its truly sad how desperate they have become.

Umm, I suppose the simple solution of using a registrar that offers free privacy services is too much for you? If you don't want to use free whois privacy, maybe buy one of those throwaway phones and just top it up every few months for cheap.

No offence intended to genuine business people from that region but these Indian scumbags are a big reason outbound marketing is so difficult and business owners have so little trust and faith in buying domains in general.

They are beyond irritating and they spam the living daylights out of me, it's relentless.
From SEO development, to domain availability emails and much more besides it's beyond pathetic.

I wish I could block any emails/calls from India, i'm more then happy to never do business with that Country, 0% of my business comes from there anyway. Any ideas anyone or just wishful thinking?

Probably a silly question but is there anything you can do about this relentless barrage of spam emails?
I assume not but asking anyway lol

Haha.

Everyone has things that irritate them more than others.

For me the emails come in such volume every day they drive me mad and use up so much wasted time over the course of a month. If it were one or two a day that's one thing, but the volume of spam is insane and seriously irritating.

Make money off them:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-23869462

In November 2011 Lee Beaumont paid £10 plus VAT to set up his personal 0871 line - so to call him now costs 10p, from which he receives 7p.

The Leeds businessman told BBC Radio 4's You and Yours programme that the line had so far made £300.

lol, I've been using Godaddy since i stated domaining so I'm not familiar with free privacy. I assumed it's a fee everywhere. What registrars give free privacy with each domain you reg?

Yeah, I've been trying my best to do that..but these banks and other services seem to also call me from certain numbers, so sometimes I have to answer. Gonna check the block feature on my phone and see if that will solve or reduce it. Because the constant ringing is annoying in itself too.

Yup. I am an Indian and a victim of the same. for every name I register, I get atleast 3 phone calls 3 text messages everyday. I sad part is that everytime its a new number so cant even block them.

Well I run the same business and I never had to resort to spam like this. (though I understand if they do coz they offer websites for $15 with domain and a years hosting. how desperate they might be)

I would suggest you to buy another number which you dont use and put it in whois data. That way you dont break any rules coz that's your number and you don't get spam calls coz you dont use that number. That's what I do and the results are blissful.

It's good to hear from someone who's from there. I will seriously consider your advice on getting a second phone..I need some bliss too.

Can understand your pain as these scumbags don't leave fellow citizens even! I am from India and receive a call almost every half an hour from them, sometimes repeatedly from the same company after a few days I say I am a developer myself and don't need their service.

1) Get a gmail account, they are very very good at filtering spam.
2) Do not use your real phone in whois. No buyer ever will contact you over the phone in whois.
3) Put up a simple contact form on your domains for sale.

Problem solved.

I wish it was as simple as this.

I use a gmail account and a ton of emails go both into spam and some also arrive in my inbox.
Maybe i'm just lucky lol but these scumbags seem to be able to get hold of me come what may.

I've received so much spam today it's been beyond irritating.
