Hi all,

Do you guys know any 6/6+ figure domain sale by an individual domainer (not by a proper web media brand/domaining company?

Do individual domainers have ever sold their domains for 6 figures or 6 plus figures?
And was it just the domain OR did they also sell a fully developed website with the domain?

Comment your answers below.

Thanks

My personal highest sale is $1.1 million. I've sold several domains in the six figure range. All .COMs without a website/development. There are many domainers who have sold names for six figure prices.

My highest sale is six figures. My biggest sales are always short .com domains (no website included).

Rick Schwartz
is an individual domainer who has sold more .com domains for seven figures than anyone else I know about. He reports them publicly.

And did you hire any broker OR did you make your first sale on you own?

Good to know that. Have you ever sold a two word .COM for six fugures?

6 figure sales depend on several factors. The amount of money you are investing in domains, the time you are willing to spend learning this business, looking for good domains, and finding potential end-users for your domains, how many years are you are willing to wait for the right buyer, if you are looking for quick flips then it will be tough to do a 6 figure sale unless you get a great domain for five figures. Most people are unable to accomplish a 6 figure sale, ever.

And the most important factor.., is where the "." is in those six+ figures.

I've sold names for multi millions, high 6 figures and many in the lower 6 figures. Is there a reason for this thread in regards to why, how or when or is this just for bragging rights?

You could share something useful about your biggest sales that can help others learn and potentially experience a large sale themselves...

Started serious domaining in 1998, although I had regged a few domains prior to that for personal use. In 1998 I hand-registered some two-word adult .net domains, and sold them within a couple of months to a buyer who contacted me out of the blue. They weren't even that great, but I made a few hundred dollars and then I realised that it could be a worthwhile hobby :)

And did you hire any broker OR did you make your first sale on you own?
Almost all my sales, including the bigger ones, have been on my own. I've used brokers for a few five figures sales here and there though.

great ! well done !
-but you knew already-

maybe you want to answer the core question:
how is a million dollar deal done?

who set the price?
how did you get it to over 1 million?
how long did negotiation take?

what was the initial offer?
did you quote a "buy now" price?
who came up with a price first?

that is really thrilling ;)

thanks
Frank
