Afternoon all, I have a handful of domains that are receiving 1-3 searches per day but no clicks.

I have optimized the keywords, there is traffic coming to them daily but just can't convert on clicks.

Any thoughts or recommendations to try?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
It should be 4-5 clicks for 100 visits as far as I know.

I don't have all mine parked but I'm having the same issue at GD..

I will add that the traffic is mostly North American, some Russian. It is happening on several domains and all are at Voodoo currently.

Not sure if any of the above helps or changes anything but any advice is appreciated on how to get more out of this traffic.

could be bots

I have domains that receive dozens of searches with no clicks so it's normal I think

you could try another parking service just to be sure. Voodoo is one of the best but it doesn't hurt to check other options as well

Yes I am thinking of moving a few to Bodis to see if there is any change.

I do not fully understand how a bot can perform a search but it is plausible as an explanation for my results.

I think with Voodoo searches are even counted when you click one of the links on the homepage. Bots can of course follow links (click them)

Problem is the searches don't pay...

Some domains get searches only, despite that traffic is real. If you own "software", "tech", "Hosting" or "cloud" domains those are not good for parking. You will be more than happy to get CTR at 1%. The problem is all those high paying keywords are in the field linked to computer specialists and unfortunately majority of them knows what a parked page is :(. All in all I would not suggest tech domains for parking no matter how high 100+ USD CPC tempting is...

good point.

which type in your extensive parking experience is best for parking? surely it isn't something like adult either.

or there is no such thing as best type? and there is only things like.. the worst kinds :)
it's possible...

Other high paying keywords like: finance, loans, health, insurance.... Ive had around 5 computer recovery domains with 10 visitors per day, after 3650 real visitors CTR was 0, so I stopped registering high CPC in tech field for parking. I would also not build a blog with Adsense on them, but could be they work just fine with affiliate links.

This info is not correct. Normally its between 10 and 20 clicks per 100 visitors on a middle sized portfolio.

but let me get this straight... sometimes when the domain niche may not be clear (iae.co, ezyt.com, madbro.net.. couple examples I own).. then it all becomes about the keyword we pick for it on voodoo... or parking crew.. I don't think bodis lets change ad keywords.. and its no longer about what niche your domain is in.. cause iae.co is not really in any niche.

for instance.. I had a click couple days ago on iae.co.. worth over $1... parking crew.. and the ads are automated there now.. showing as financial related...

if what I said is true.. why shouldn't we all just change all our domains to have the master ad keywords with highest potential.. never mind what the actual domain name may be...
like I said, I don't think bodis lets you do that.. I find parking crew is kinda random about which domains it lets you change keywords for and not.. but voodoo seems fully customizable...

thanks for sharing your knowledge about parking with mere mortals.

You are absolutely right, some general domain names they simply copy the browser history of the last visit, so they are not any particular niche. But I only own keyword and high specific keyword names, so I dont know anything about optimizing names which look random. I guess from my experience its best to leave the optimization to Google even when it takes some additional time. Forced keywords only work in 5% or so.

For acronyms/randoms I have the keywords set to "domain name" related terms... was a suggestion I read on NP somewhere... so far not enough data to advise if successful.

I think this will not work well.

yeah I'd tend to agree. if there was one niche I'd set randoms to it'd probably be financial niche...

like I Said before.. bodis doesn't let you play with keywords at all I think.. parking crew is kinda random about it.. some yes some no.. I think voodoo is the only one allowing this fully and for all domains.. unless I missed somehting.

it depend on your tile also because some time if you not set proper eye caching title you won't get any single click.

Just thought I would give a little update

I moved everything to Above.com yesterday and domains that only had searches are getting clicks as of today! It's been about 24 hours and already a positive change. Will be interesting to see once things are actually optimized...

forcing keywords on non related domain names is bad idea

this why it's best to acquire keyword-rich names, so auto-optimizing can do it's job.

when the visitors arrive at your page, they want to see something related to why they came there.

imo.....
