I recently sold Mio.tv through a private sale for $15,000! Spanish keywords are getting more interest and offers in .TV. I will work on providing data to DN Journal.

Thanks,
A

Brill sale! Did u reach out to them?

Was a crazy story. Mio.tv was owned by a startup that raised a $1MM and then went defunct. I was able to acquire the name in the aftermarket. I have held it for a couple years and then was contacted by a company in Argentina already using a .TV. After some negotiation, we agreed on that price. The name is standard renewal.

Note: I submitted documentation to Ron at DNJ and am awaiting a response.

Thanks,
A

LL and LLL domains in many extensions including crappy ones like XYZ, BIZ and WS are making sales.

I do not consider MIO that great of a Spanish keyword. I have plenty of Spanish keywords in .Net, .TV and even .COM. Spanish domain sales have been on a continuing decline over the last five years. Demene - the Spanish forum is far less active than it was back in 2008. New TLDs have created many cheap options for low-budget buyers which are the vast majority of Spanish domain buyers.

I appreciate your feedback Leonard, but quite frankly your opinion of whether the keyword is good or not is irrelevant. The buyer believed it to be worth the sale price.

Ammar-congrats on your sale and my apologies for sounding critical. My point is that the Spanish domain market is not doing well at the moment as evidenced by a sharp dropoff in Spanish domain sales at Demene and from personal experience. $XXXX Spanish sales are not common even in .COM and are rare in alternative extensions. Five-figure Spanish sales are virtually unheard of for alternative TLDs so this sales should not be considered to be indicative of the state of the Spanish .TV market. In ten years in the industry I have never sold a Spanish .Net or .TV or other alternative TLD for usage for a Spanish website for more than high $XXX (yes I have tried).

Note the word "mio" is possessive and is used to describe masculine objects such as "Ese carro es mio" or "That car is mine".
