Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

VRChiquitas.com taken. After doubts and thoughts, and winking Dotster's promo ;)

Well you only have to type VR into Google images and see what comes up, type ‘AR’ in though, probably only around 10% is Augmented Reality.

I think the downside to Augmented Reality and when people play games like Pokémon Go, they just call it ‘a game for their mobile phone’, not Augmented Reality.

When VR gets its killer app, VR itself will take all the spotlight, for all the success of Pokemon Go, other than a few articles, Augmented Reality is getting little credit and that’s because it’s done though devices people already have and that’s my worry for ARkeyword domain names, people may play Augmented Reality games and apps, but the term ‘Augmented Reality’ may get little credit.

Exactly...and if you check articles From last weeks about pokemon, 90% of them state about virtual reality when they talk about it, even if also associate to AR, but definitly for now they talk more about VR in articles about it.
More and more i start to think that VR will be the Main kw to talk about all those tech : AR/MR/AVR..only IMO, time will tell us.
Cheers

http://domainnamewire.com/ is reporting that facebook obtained some new domains.
facebookworkplace.com
fbworkplace.com
workplacebyfacebook.com
workplacebyfb.com
and in other extensions

Interesting, but it suggests they are looking at workplace collaboration and my bet is VR is part of that.
Enterprise only or for the consumer also is the question I have.
Should be a 'tend to follow' with VR names if you can find the right ones before launch.
And I would venture to say that might be sometime around/just after the Oculus Touch launch.
The 2 obvious are taken... vrWorkSpace & vrWorkPlace and the reverse.
And I'll guess that someone here has one on those.
But no help for my vrPlaceBook , it's more of a virtual tour name.

still hanging on to the reg I made on the day VRobot got sold.. ;)

VR-robot
That really is not a bad name with the hyphen if it's a king.
I see that as a Toy or Software and the demand for those areas should be strong enough to lift that hyphen.

yep.. king.. edited. tnx.

not a big fan of double RR in VR (I own exactly none of those...lol.. but that's just me).. so I think I had choice between dash and RR.. and picked dash.. but maybe RR was taken.. it's been a while.. can't remmeber.. just flashes of things remain.

either way.. Robot is a great keyword to own imo. probably under any combo including RR.. has good potential. cheers.

That's a nice one. I was offered 2500 for vr(.fund) a few months back, probably should have taken it...

Thank you! As per your domain, imho there is no rush with selling..once you have good domain, it is preferable to wait for some really good offers ;)

Pretty good example from an article today in the washington post talking about pokemon go :

Does virtual reality have its first ‘killer app?’

Is Pokémon Go the killer app for virtual reality?

To be honest if pokemon go is being refered to as a virtual reality then it should be seen as a good thing.

We are in the early stages of VR so it would be worrying for me if consumers were buzzing about another technical term before VR has even got off the ground.

I am invested across a few niches but it would definately be a bad thing in my eyes if consumers started to look past vr at this stage.

I am sure some people invested in AR or MR will agree. It is best for VR to become a success before other terminology is tossed into the consumer equation.

Lets start seeing some nice VR sales, then hopefully in the future the guys invested into other terminology will get some sucess as well :)

As I said 2 pages back, you can call it whatever you want, but this one app changed the VR investment picture and probably is the turning point for VR. You can mark it on your calendar and map.

Everyone is looking for investment opportunity's in the field now. Something I have been waiting for, for a very long time as a sign of the industry start. And I am likely to get quite busy with other work I do because of it.

It's AR not VR........am I missing something?

The article obviously got it wrong as someone mentioned in the comment section at the bottom..

or its people just deciding to call everything having elements of VR as VR... cause it is the term that's been around for longest and everyone is most familiar with... and imho its the one that just plain sounds (and looks) best compared to evertything else.
