What's with everyone selling their 4L's for under $2K?!

When it's all said and done, who decides their worth but we the people?!

If we stop selling our 4L's for so cheap, their value will inevitably grow!

We shouldn't sell them for any less than $5K; maybe even $10K+. Especially, if they're Chinese Premiums...

Consider this:

There is no literal "bubble." We only think there is... and what we mutually imagine to be becomes our perceived reality.

And to even take matters a step further... we only think we think there is... If we dig deep enough, we'll find we don't really believe what we're merely led to believe we believe, on the surface...

For those who understand, remember, there is no spoon...

Positive change requires initiative. And it is never too late to make it happen now, folks!

That's all, for now...

Very well said, pity it will fall onto deaf ears.
Bravo to you!

Yeah, we know there's a starman waiting in the sky for all the chip prices to blow SKY high!

let me guess.. you own some 4l chips,..

dreaming is so cute.
reality isn't

it all started with a fake inflated value for them... so what can you build on fake .. but uncertainity, instability and more fake.

@SirDrago Thanks, man! Glad to know you get it... whatever it is exactly that "it" is. ;)

@forge LMAO! It obviously goes way, way, way beyond just domaining...

But I'm done. Not here to start a debate. Just reach those who might listen...

Peace and love, ya'll.

Hey, I'm glad you have a sense of humor, and I might even dream of 10k prices being the norm for 4Ls, but then I have to come back down to reality.

Reality is what we make it... Not as individuals but as a collective-conscious unit...

@alcy It's all fake and real at the same time. It's whatever the hell we want it to be. Words are just words...

But I'm getting off topic. This is a domain name forum... Which is why my post regards... domain names. It just so happens to parallel my feelings on the inner-mechanics of things... Because, well... it's a thing... LOL

Anyway, have a great night/day (depending on your location), everybody! :)

There's a difference between a supply and demand market and a speculative investment market.
I think we should think bigger. Let's all pick a small listed company, buy shares and refuse to sell .... let's ruin the bid-ask spread!

This general argument has been made a few times. Over time you will read that .co, .tv has people selling too low. Then you got the 3d, pot names selling too low. The only difference here is that there is at least a quantifiable exact number of domains that makes the argument have somewhat more merit..... but while some domainers can cash out and profit while you have others who need to hope for gains to stem losses you've got a market not listening :)

Good luck though :)

Very nicely said, my friends! Thank you for the wise words. You each give me a little more to think about. :)

@DU That's definitely what I was trying to get at, though... I would never say that about generics... With them, there is such a vast range in quality.

Recent sales, I wonder who grabbed these and thousand others ;)

lyui.com $270 (BuyDomains)
obxt.com $250
etxq.com $250
ijur.com $290 (BuyDomains)
idjz.com $250
mvxu.com $290 (Darshinee Naidu)
vkdy.com $250
ihvq.com $250
jwvx.com $270 (BuyDomains)
adwv.com $250
hvaq.com $250
erxu.com $2,000 (22.cn. bidding war between chinese bidders. 2 pinyin words)
ujup.com $250
iagz.com $260
zcei.com $320
vyel.com $260
ipwy.com $310 (BuyDomains)
oxcg.com $260
uglp.com $260 (BuyDomains)
vuxc.com $270 (BuyDomains)
ivjv.com $260
vluy.com $260
qjaz.com $250 (BuyDomains)

Many buy these at $250 and sell at 280/320 and mistakenly consider that "a sale".
I Wouldn't sell a single domain on that list for less than $4,500

Whoa! That's just loco, man!

See, people sell for such petty numbers because others put it in their head that they can't get any more than that... They lack the necessary hope, diligence, and patience.

That is exactly what needs to change.

Anyone who'd consider paying $4500 for something like vluy.com needs to have their head examined.

Even though It's pronounceable? It's just Vee-Lui so it rhymes... totally brandable :)

Outside of the Chinese domain market, that fluctuates like a thermometer on a volcano's rim, QJXZ domains have zero to minimal application. The Chinese fund that started the bubble game last year, got their nice ROI and exited the market. Meanwhile, the bag holders still wonder why prices are falling.

I know many people have different ideas about what is and makes a domain name brandable but Vluy doesn't fit my any of my criteria for what defines a brandable.

We the People of Namepros, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish a $5k floor for 4L.coms, maybe even $10k+ especially if they’re Chinese premiums.

I couldn't care less about "market prices", I define my own. If I was obligated to sell at market prices I would have sold for $50 or $60 one or two years ago instead of selling now for $5000 or $6000 ( even if the current "market price" is $1000 ). It is you that set the price, not the buyer... if they don't want, another will, it takes time.
Each domain is unique, I don't care if there is an alternative for $10 or $1000... why are they replying again then? I receive hundreds of requests from people telling me that the domain is only worth x or y. No it isn't.

@DNabc Your words - they speak wisdom into my soul (and, I would hope, all others who might read it)... They transcend the average level of thought; not just around these parts, but in general. Thank you for serving as such a well-needed reminder of such an obvious truth!
