Always happen with cheap domains. These are disposable domains that won't be renewed.
.pw is known for being very spammy too.

For the moment the spam mostly comes from .top, I might even blacklist it on our server because we don't have legitimate exchanges with .top users anyway.

I remember long time ago forum (and various other web service) owners were completely blocking sign ups from emails on .info because of all the spammers.
People stopped buying .infos since they didn't want to be associated with spam and scams, and of course they didn't want to be bocked.
Owners of premium keywords or LLL should be pissed off on Negari since all those dirt cheap promotions further lowers the value of .xyzs.

Unlike .info XYZ is proactive in removing threats and abuse. I think they are smart enough to stand by their word and I believe the technology to find and remove threats is available. It is crucial for their own survival so it makes sense that they will follow through.

EXAMPLE:
- Daniel Negari sent a tweet to the effect that they will be deleting around 180,000 domains that they found were abusive (after the 1 cent surge).

Most of the good handreg domains in .xyz are gone. Only drops and domain names for personal development are left, at least for the most part.

Denail negari is a guy is taking you for a ride and you are fools who are sliding the wave as that kingtop the other testicle said it. I don't have anything personal towards him but when you tell me I missed my meds. I would rather get banned or get you banned from here ASSHOLES.

Just count your infraction points from now on.

lol... deleting 180k of domains people regged??? only in xyz land I suppose!

I've never hear of any other registrar offering a promo reg before, and then just randomly as they please deciding to delete people's registrations.

what better reason that this can one want, to keep away from xyz!

Mad asked if your forgot to take "your medication" and you replied with the cover of a movie about serial killers. Sorry for sounding judgemental but your reply seemed a little off.

For the record though, there is nothing wrong with taking medication (even if you do not take any yourself). Please be reminded that you are the one that started with the offensive language and it also seems like you are the one with sensibilities. I am just stating the facts ("idiot" is a brash word in English).

You've never seen a GTLD increase in value toward .com and past .net either.

And you have never ran a registry, registrar or TLD and judging by your position in the domain name industry, you have never invested in an asset that appreciated during a disrupted market.

you're as dumb as xyz.

You are quick to call xyz and it's founder names but have you ran a registry, registrar or TLD?

He has.

Have you invested in an asset that appreciated in value during a disrupted market?

I have.

The spammers must really be on a rampage buying out .xyz.

You are right. They saw an opportunity and took it. But unlike .info, XYZ will remove the abuse.

Judging by your position in .com I am sensing that you hope they won't. Their survival depends on it and it is doable so they will.

In terms of maximizing productivity, the opportunity to buy hundreds of domains in one place, at one time, for almost nothing seems like a gift from the gods. Imagine the time it frees up to work on getting past spam filters. :)

XYZ will end up like .info and .cn, full of spammers, used to spread viruses and etc.

I don't involve myself with those type of domains.

I don't agree and I already stated why.

And actual Spamhaus data: https://www.spamhaus.org/statistics/tlds/
.info - just 6.9% are considered as bad.

.com is 6.3% and based on their website I think that is considered bad too.

.download is number one with over 80%+ of their domains being abused.

.xyz is in at 15% and I believe they can definitely bring it down to the 6% levels, especially since .info did.

Notice Badness Index also there:
.xyz - 1.66
.com - 0.78
.info - 0.66 (better than .com)

I usually forward the spams to the registrar or registry abuse department - works fine, unless it's .com, as .com spams have been coming in since I created my email account like 15 years ago, kind of getting used to...
