Have been pondering the actual scarcity of LLL's in the various extensions available.

Went to Sedo to have a look at what is for sale figuring that could provide a snapshot of the selling market.

Used the following simple search: up to three LLL, no numbers or hyphens, and divided by the number of combo's and rounded off.

The results of for sale listings as of this morning are kinda interesting:

.com 1654 listings for sale approx. 9% of available
.net 2990 listings @17%
.org 3499 @20%
.info 6421 @37%
.biz 5596 @32%
.io 906 @5%
club 2560 @15%
.in 9361 @53%
.co 6625 @38%
.de 3368 @19%
.us 6148 @35%
.tv 1660 @ 9%
.me 3155 @18%
.xyz 851 @4%
.top 18094 @100%

In six of fifteen extensions more than 30% of the available domains are for sale.

So, are LLL's actually rare?

How to explain .top?

Would genuinely like to hear your views.

.top shows more than 100% of LLL apparently.

The explanation: it aint right.

Checked again today and it is correct. .top has 18,278 possibilites in up-to-3 LLL.

That means resellers hold essentially all (99%) of the .top 1-3 LLL.

Big, big, Bubble?

26^3=17576

Big bubble indeed. 18,278 available out of 17,576.

Top allows shorter reg's: >>> a.top through zzz.top

26x26x26 + 26x26 + 26 = 18278

.com allows LL too, and there is even x.com, but you still seem to count only LLL for that.

Consistency is usually a good thing ) But, yeah, I get your point. No surprise there.

LLL.com is really scarce. Only 1000-2000 available for sale is really very small number for the planet.

No Recons I did not treat .com any different, it too includes all possible variations in the calculations.

What is troubling to me is that .top reseller availability is unlike any other extension on the list.

That looks like a huge investor driven bubble.

By that logic, LLL dot xyz all have found end users ;)

Yes, .io, .tv, and, .xyz are all quite low in reseller availability.

By that logic, LLL dot xyz all have found end users

Not only end users, but would include a large number of names that are simply not currently being offered for sale.

Curious.
