Here's a slightly different one.
Some years ago there was an interesting idea called the Million Dollar Homepage. Some of you will likely remember it, many of you won't. I remember it as quite a significant event, perhaps the start of the viral internet.

Anyway at the time I was really keen to get some space on there but never pulled the trigger. At $100 for a tiny square it was definitely a novelty, but one that paid off for some people.
After not initially purchasing real estate on the MDHP, I'd always been interested in monitoring domains linked from the page to get a piece of it second hand.
Well it's taken a lot longer than anticipated, but I finally ran the check of available domains, courtesy of Desktop Catcher and some XML/spreadsheet action.
By my count there are currently 161 domain names available, from about 3000 - 4000 linked. That's at least 16,100 pixels of real estate available at reg fee.
I grabbed two domains and secured 2,000 pixels of space (initially cost the owners $2000!) so there are certainly some big spaces available for one registration. Let's see who can get the biggest space.
