Hi,

There is a new (at least for me) "feature" on NamePros. I get the red pop-up texts over the "chat" link all the time and they start irritating me.

It is pretty much the same texts all the time, including the one on my screenshot "I think I am trapped". That should be accurate how I feel.

@Eric Lyon please advice how to get rid of this. It is a meaningless feature, but very distracting, as it is natural to react to red popups, but what is the purpose of reacting to the same meaningless stuff 10 times in 10 minutes??!!!

It's very frustrating indeed.
I keep thinking i've got a PM or an alert

Surprised there's no obvious option to turn those annoying popups off.
Strange addition IMO, I can't imagine anyone wanting to see this on a regular basis.

Mr Rabbit wants some love, is all.

But I agree, quite annoying after awhile. Perhaps admin would consider disabling the red pop-up once the user free's the rabbit? Or even an opt-out option?

Who on earth thought this is a good way to promote chat? Not only will I go into that chat, but will stop my paid account if this crazy thing does not stop.

Solve the mystery and the cries for help will stop. This was not originally the case, but it has been updated. If you've previously solved it, repeat the same process and the notifications will turn off.

Actually, time is running out.

If you really must disable the alerts without participating in our annual day of fun, we've added an opt-out page.

It's not a design feature.

It's easy to get rid of and will only be around for 24 hours.

Paul, I originally did not realize this is April 1 thing. Would not probably have opened the thread.

But also you have to realize that 24 hour long joke is too long. I hope your regular jokes in real life are not like this ))

All the big websites participate every year.

Some do it for 24 hours, some do it for a few days starting April 1, and some last a lot longer. Coincidentally, Google had to disable theirs early because they got a lot of complaints. Usually Google's last for a few days.

Last year, Reddit's lasted more than a month and caused a huge commotion.
