Hello NPers!

I just sold my first domain, I'm pretty stoked right now because a few days ago I was contemplating quitting domaining because I thought I sucked at it. Well, maybe my outbound marketing worked! I've received a message from Undeveloped that somebody BIN'd my domain. Do any of you guys have sold domains using Undeveloped.com? I'd like to know how should I proceed now. The platform allows me to send a message to the buyer and that's it, should I just wait for the payment?

Anyways, I can't reveal the domain name yet but it's a two word english brandable .COM in the hair industry, lots of companies have their own version of the domain name so I guess somebody decided to upgrade to the king.

The best part is that I bought the domain at GD closeouts for 20$ bucks and sold it for 2500$

I... I wanna do this full time :P

Update on Apr 20, 2016: The domain has not sold on Undeveloped.com as I stated in the initial post, I did receive a message that somebody bought the domain but the buyer did not pay.
Luckily I had one interested party already and we made a deal the day after, we closed the deal at $2000 using Escrow.com. Read more...

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I've sold with undeveloped before.
Mine were offer / counter offer , myself negotiating with the client. Undeveloped does have a set 15% commission but they take care of the payment part (escrow and so-on included in that 15%).

I would think for BIN it should work the same way as in offer / counter offer as they don't negotiate for you. You deal with all the responses from inquiries and so-on.

If you didn't receive any message from one of the undeveloped management guys, just click on the chat button and send them a message. They are very helpful.

Awesome! Congrats!

Just a word of advice though, to save yourself at least a little frustration at some point in the future: never count your chickens before they hatch. I never consider a domain SOLD until the funds have been disbursed. Over the last decade I've had tons of "sales" never actually come to fruition. Happens all the time, unfortunately!

You're right. I hope this is not the case though, but if it is, from now on I'll wait until the funds have been transferred

You almost missed this sale. Some sale will take longer for it to occur and some will be in 24hrs.Some if you do outbound marketing.Never give up so easily as long as you know why you got into domaining in the first place.Read, learn and keep reading as you make some sales and before you know it,you develop a thick skin and you grow from your experience.

Wishing you more sales.

Congrats. It always feels nice when you get an email that your domain name is sold. As advised before just wait for the funds get cleared and reinvest that money in more domain names. Money makes Money.

Nice job and congrats! Outbound marketing on domains is frustrating at the best of times, but you'll increase your overall sales rate providing the names have value to businesses.

I'm curious, did you get a response from the person you reached out to or did they just go straight there and hit BIN?

First, congratulations, I too experienced what you experienced in the first 3 months when i first started domaining. I wanted to quit many times, I bought names that i thought they were cool and no one buy. Then one day i reviewed my portfolio and studied the market. I found out short 3~4 letters and 3~4 numbers acronyms of global worldwide generic international extensions meanings have the biggest liquidity value, and these TLDs always have a demand. So after realizing this, I started to focus on acronyms mostly, and this helped me to stay competitive and took guaranteed profits every time, this focus further helped me to stay in the domain names trading business up to now. I become much happier, richer, and enthusiastic ever since.

Thank you.

I contacted several companies, most of them never replied, some of them said "No, thanks" and only one of them said "Maybe... send us your best offer on the price", even though they already knew the price (2500$)

This company in question sells hair vitamins and their domain name it's similar to mine so when I had the domain parked at Bodis I used to receive questions about the hair vitamins and how much do they cost, I took screenshots of all of this "inquiries" to make my point clear and to explain to this company that they were leaking traffic and leads to my domain and I believe that sealed the deal right away, even though I have no way of knowing if the person who bought it was the same, I can only assume so.
