When you first write to your end-users, to see if they're interested in your domain (s), do you sign your letter just with your name (thus remaining somewhat anonymous), or with a company name/title, or indicate that you're a Domainer and do this professionally or as an investor?
I would think you'll be taken most seriously if you indicate you're from a company. I'm not sure if it's worthwhile to indicate you're a Domainer, as some people don't think highly of Domainers.

What works best for you?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
This topic has been discussed a lot. End users are mostly businesses. A business would expect to be contacted by businesses. Not from some gmail or hotmail losers. So first of all, get yourself a business domain and send all domaining emails from it. And then chose yourself, if your fictional business is domaining, or IM, or SEO, or whole range marketing... And of course it's better to make some site on this domain, because when your contact is curious to check your website, he'd like to see some nice site, even a simple visit card... Otherwise the impression will be bad. Like with gmail.

It's always best to come across professional. So, providing them with your info is key and simple. A nice and simple signature with your contact info, linked in and so on is a must.

Nobody wants to do business with someone anonymous using hotmail. Make their job of finding out who you are easier by providing the necessary information when initially contacting them.

If you are looking for a subject line. Try to use the companies name in the subject. I have tested this and get a higher open rate then using the domain name your are selling.

I had a Princess try to sell me a domain 4 days ago. Yes, seriously (per the email).
