Why do some sellers seriously underprice domains?

I've seen some sellers on platforms put a ridiculously low price on some very good domains. I'm talking domains that any major company would pay an arm and a leg for (I'm not talking made up name domains I'm talking serious domains)?

The sellers are normally from Scandinavian or some Asian countries.

People underprice domains for 2 reasons: They need money, or they value the domain less than you.

However, Without any examples or links, talk is cheap.

Perhaps because there are far more domain investors who buy domains (relatively cheap) than there are real companies who are willing to pay the premium prices that get most of the press.

It is normal. Sometimes seller may need urgent money or maybe he/she change her domain invest project. etc.

I also sell 11 6N domains for just 350 $. is that floor price ? of course no. But i changed my mind for 6n investing.

because domainers are either traders or investors/gamblers at heart

Are they just priced low to get bids or are they selling for that price?

Go buy them all if they're so good.

old tactic, take good names list them at low prices gauge interest, take off market relist some time down the road or target an end user.

Low Price in auctions to gain interest of bidders.
But if Low price in Fixed Price than maybe for liquidity and quick sale.

Hi,

Everyone has their own reason. Everyone has different situation.

Sometime ago someone sold Pirateship.com for $2000 because he needed $2000 for something. Same name sold by buyer for $25000 within few weeks. I think name of that friend is Richard Levi (May be)

Thanks

Desperate for money, are not aware of actual value of domain or are looking to flip the name quickly.

Possibly they have a more prosperous project that needs funding.

I thought I was reading too much into it so didn't mention that. I'm glad someone else brought it up. Hopefully it's nothing. But u can't be too cautious.

tbh, in asian countries, $300 - $500 is a lot. You can run a house for a month with that much money (rent excluded).

I've learned that pricing a domain with a BIN of $500 will make it sell no sooner than having it priced at $1500. If a person wants your name, they will come and get it and offer what it is worth to them when they are ready.

I had a domain listed for $500 BIN on several marketplaces because I was tired of renewing it. Something made me remove the BIN and set it to best-offer everywhere. A couple of weeks later I receive an offer of $1K which ultimately ended at a $2K sale after I countered. Had I had that $500 BIN set it would've been sold for that amount I'd probably think my fair pricing accounted for the sale which wasn't the case.
