Hello Everyone,

I am still pretty new to the dominating business. I was hoping to get some advice on what to do with my domains that I am holding on to, but not actively trying to sell. I have some domains parked at Flippa, but I have only gotten 1 offer from those domains. I have some domains parked at Sedo and Bodis, but haven't gotten any offers. I have also heard about people using AfterNic to have domains listed for sale, but I am still looking into this.

Anyway, what are some good practices regarding your domains when they aren't actively up for sale in an auction or you aren't actively marketing them for sale? Where have most of you had the most success as far as parking them. I wasn't sure if it would be better to park them in a page with a buy-it-now price, where people could buy it right away, or if it would be better to have an inquiry page, where people can contact me first to negotiate a price.

I certainly appreciate any thoughts on this.

Thanks!

-Matt

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Post your domains here at Namepros and try to sell them. Better than sedo, afternic or etc :)

That's a really good idea. I'm still getting a hang of how the marketplace works here. Since I am still learning about evaluation, I'm not sure if I should do a buy-it-now, auction, or Make-an-Offer. Any thoughts on that?

Thanks!

Try " make an offer" option.

When you learn about forum marketplace, you can try other options too.

But i recommend you first : make an offer

Good luck

My way

I do for fast flips - I use sedo/afternic/godaddy/lgloo.com/NP

medium quality domains - domainnamesales.com

Top end stuff ie :

ll.com and so on all have live website ... these domains are on whois privacy...enduser sales only.

I like Sedo because you have the opportunity to include a parking page while at the same time allowing users to make offers on the domain. If you like an offer, you have the option of starting an auction at the offer price and then you may even get a higher bid.

Why is the whois privacy important to you for your highend names for end user sales please!?

stops domainers/scammers/hackers from scanning my portfolio/ also hiding my main email... and so on ..not concerned with flip domains or medium stuff thats open.

I listed everything on DNS. Almost 50-60 times increase in parking revenue over Sedo.

I think you can do three major things with your domains until they get sold.

1) Park your domains (Bodis, DS, Sedo...etc)
2) Develop some good names till they get sold for desired amount.
3) Proactively market your names.

Park them all for a month
Anything that makes significant earnings bounce around between parking companies or use above.com to find where each of the earners makes the most
Domains that make nothing either develop them or put them on sales pages as a page with ads on it that has no traffic is an easy sacrifice to possibly quicken a domain sale, Bodis, DomainNameSales have free sales pages along with other paid options efty, wordpress themes, your own developed sales website etc...

Good Luck
