Now that NP's is the number 1 domain forum by far expect to see it inundated with Chinese buyers looking for bargains.

DON't sell cheap.

I have been around a while and chances are they will be consortiums with English speaking front men buying for a group so money will not be an object. This is not a bad thing but be aware it would not take too much for them to control the NP's secondary reseller market.

Just be aware and simply my opinion.

As long as they pay, I've no problem selling. It's the spamming scammers I've a problem with.

True.

Although already had one complete waste of time with a Chinese "buyer" here although I did note there was a couple of positive feed backs which stopped me from posting a negative so gave the benefit of the doubt.

Before you guys begin dreaming about Chinese parting withe their fortune here on NP, try to work out about how you're going to be paid.
PayPal? Don't think so...

There is definitely an issue with that, 80-20. I've only dealt with buyers from Hong Kong on forums, and via Domain Name Sales & Escrow.com for mainland China buyers.

You can always use DN.com escrow.

@80-20, great point - we launched Mandarin speaking support and translated our site to help with exactly that issue

Is the CN translated version of escrow.com available now? If so, link please - I'm not seeing it on the home page. Thanks!

Thanks wot.

@Escrow.com I would humbly suggest that Escrow do the typical "flag" icons in the upper right hand corner of the home page rather than a drop down box toward the bottom of a long home page.

I am using DN.com successfully for almost a year already for deals with chineses, problem solved..
some other deals done via 4.cn escrow, also no headaches.. both services are known to 90% of chineses who deal with domain names..

so there really is no problem at all getting paid by them..

But of course most non Chinese sellers do not know DN.com & 4 cn so now that Escrow.com offers a "Chinese" service it is likely to dominate.

I have mixed experiences. I had a few occasions where buyers just did not send money, although they themselves initiated escrow. I suspect they unsuccesfully tried to make a quick flip by reselling the domains within the escrow timeframe.

I had one case where we agreed on a two domain deal, but the buyer tried to convince the escrow service that the deal included two other domains as well. I had to send in our pre-sale conversations and then the deal was cancelled by the escrow service.

On the other side I had a nice sale where the money arrived in escrow almost at the same time I got the notification that the domain was actually sold.

but is it wise to use DN.com and escrow for "small" sales? such as $100 and below? just sayin...

Hi Bobbarato,
If a user visits from a Chinese browser (or with global language selection set to Chinese) Escrow.com automatically detect this and appear for them in Chinese. Alternatively you can select language manually using the flag-style selector down at the bottom of each page.

Cheers,
Jackson

ok thanks... so in your opinion DN.com is as reputable as escrow.com? just making sure I'm not signing up for anything 'shady' lol.

Hi Josh,
The short answer is they are not licensed, audited or regulated in the US.
At Escrow.com all of your funds are held in trust, meaning that your funds are 100% secure no matter what happens. That guarantee is not available through an unlicensed provider.

I used them once because the chinese buyer prefer to use it over escrow.com.
I got my money without any issue.

This is your business, do your own due diligence as always recommended.
