It's not about the validation. This is the issue which still persists:

Hi. This issue has been resolved. Thank you for pointing it out to us.

I'm still seeing 404 pages Michael.

Edited to add for clarity:
Domains under 'pending' 'your domains pending brandbucket review' that have been validated returns a 404.
Domains under 'pending' 'your domains pending logo design' that have been validated returns a correct page.
Domains under 'to do' 'domains requiring your attention' that have been validated returns a 404.

I am still curious about this:

One thing I just noticed (maybe it was this way before and I didn't realize it):

If you click "Buy Now" on your lander page - it will just bring you to the brandbucket page of your domain which list other domains that the potential customer might like to buy. (which are not yours)

A customer would then need to click Buy again to purchase the domain from the lander.

So this gives the customer more options in names after having decided to click "Buy Now" on your domain lander.

I can't say I am a fan of that if it is an intended feature of the site.

@michaeljkrell - Can you confirm if this is a purposeful function of the site or if this is a bug?

I would think, if a buyer clicked on "buy it now", the focus of BB should be on closing the deal, not distracting him/her with alternatives.

When you make an offer to client and he accepts it, you don't go saying "hey, by the way, I also have this list of names that might be relevant, if you want to change your mind".

Exactly!

Currently any names that have an approved description go to the buy now page. I will talk to my team about having other domains in the "Pending" status (before a description) go to the buy now page as well.

This was done on purpose. We have been A/B testing this for several months and this method has proven the most successful.

Could you please provide some details on "most successful"? What were the criteria for measuring this? Did showing the other names somehow reinforce the certitude to purchase the name? Or Did % of those buy another name increasing BB's bottom line?

Thank you for the response. It is understandable that if in a side by side comparison it lead to more sales that you guys decided to go that way.

Though this approach does send leads away from someone for sending their landing traffic in which the user had already clicked buy now, so you can see how that might rub sellers a little wrong. They are paying to list and guaranteeing exclusivity for you to work to sell their domain.

What determines the 9 names that show on your page after clicking buy now?

Is this area for featured listings or is an algorithm used?

It doesn't seem to be most similar because my names don't appear on the same pages as the ones that appear on mine.

I can see how it helps to drive sells, but if all traffic leads away from my domains and none leads back it does not quite seem "fair"

I do have the option of changing over to forwarding, which then if they click buy now it would move forward with my domain. This might be the way I go. They still see the other domains, but if they decide to buy my name and click buy now are not presented with "Hey, here are a few other options just in case you want to change your mind now"

But at the end of the day, in business everyone must do what they feel is in their best interest. So I can understand it, but I also want to offer my feedback as a seller and what thoughts might come to mind before making a serious investment with a business..

Sale: * A * C * T * I * V * I * R * A *

Best run I've ever had on BB. Kudos to them.

Just sold S/A/F/E/R/W/A/L/L/E/T. Woohoo! Looks like sales improved after the website rebuild!

Great job, BrandBucket! :)

Thanks Michael. The page previously used to say "blabla.com is a name coming soon to Brandbucket".

Just got 8 of my names published today. I'm pretty happy with most of the logos and 3 of them are the first on the featured section so I guess that's nice too!

For these type of high dollar purchases it is vital that the customer trust the marketplace, especially when it comes to something like a domain which is difficult for many customers to wrap their heads around. Taking them to the marketplace where they can see who we are and what we do ultimately makes them feel more comfortable making the purchase. The most successful outcome for us is someone seeing the landing and purchasing that name.

We very much appreciate your feedback, and will take it into consideration if/when we start testing modifications to our current landers.

If we don't like the suggested price - are there any other options, @michaeljkrell? Maybe someone else can take a look ? Cause I surely refuse to list some of my domains for the BB suggested price.

Good luck with that. I've been trying to remove some of my approved names from the queue for several weeks now. They keep sending me automated reminders to verify the domains and I keep responding with the removal request. Gonna stop now, i don't have time for this.

Sounds like you're replying to an un-monitored email address. Send something over to their support and they'll always help in a speedy and efficient manner.

What are the rest of you doing about names that have been approved but are in the queue for descriptions that are going to 404 pages right now? In the last week I've stopped updating the DNS on newly approved names but I still have around 30+ going to a 404 page.

As it is taking 3 or 4 weeks between the inital approval and going live on site, I'm tempted to validate them then immediately redirect them to my own landing page and transfer them back to BB when they go live on the site.

What are the rest of you doing?

Thanks in advance.

I have never even looked at what they do while pending. Just figured they were out of service and would be up when they got to them. So I guess it's not a problem for me.

Has anyone sold a name while it was pending logo/description? I've sold a name within days of it going live, but never before that point. I'm sure Michael can tell us.

I've sold names that are in the queue for approval. Once approved I just asked for them to be deleted.

One was a name dropped in error and the original owner purchased it from me. The others I'm guessing are from other people watching the dropping domains.

I've never sold a domain that has been approved by brandbucket but is still waiting in description/logo queue.

I've solved my problem anyway. By removing the domains in the description/logo queue. When they fix this I'll relist them.

I've just checked my records. I've actually had 5 four-figure sales of domains submitted to BB after submission but before approval in the last 8 months. Ironically, only 3 of those were later 'approved' by BB.

I suppose I'm glad then that the approval process takes so long! :)
