So it's worth what someone is willing to pay? Pretty useful comment for the appraisal section of the forum.

An enduser should expect to pay low-mid $x,xxx for this very attractive domain - resell value mid-high $xxx.

It might be a low 5 figure sale, that is if you can sell the $500 renewal to an end user, sometimes it is just a matter of principal that they will not pay more than $10 a year to renew a domain.

Really it is very generic, sometimes these names can be to generic, which gives them other options.

Essentially what does e.guide describe to it's audience, they have other options that could be more clear on their end product in all reality.

How many years can you keep paying that renewal.

Sounds great, reg fee is a killer for a domainer, but an enduser might just accept it, low $x,xxx is my guesstimate

I like it @bigirck but I think it is a very long term hold. I own a.guide and I think Mike Berkens owns the.guide You need a company large enough to think nothing of the 440 renewal. Informational products are big money and your name is a great one for that industry.

well, there were plenty of single character .whatevers available to register, all with a variety of renewal fee's.

some low $$ to $,$$$, per year.

so, until either you find a buyer or wait for one who can pay the amount you ask, then the current value is reg fee or.... whatever actual dollar offers you get, above that.

but in theory, if reg/renew fee is $400, then next year, it's worth $800 and year after $1,200 and so on and so on, until you sell.

as is, there is no established market, outside of "registering them from the registrar" or wait for when they decide to release their reserved lists of "premium" .whatevers by auction.

from that, i'd say value of your name could be seen in comparison to.. "average closing prices for similar single charter .whatevers", calculated from various venues.

however, even in such environments, closing prices are affected by frenzied buying, which may not exist outside of that bubble.

I contemplated registering this domain but the reg fee was a killer for me. How many years will it take to sell? Every year you are $400 indebted to the domain.

When I first saw e.guide was available I also saw i.guide was available. Iguide.com sold for 100k a little while ago which got me thinking. Personally I think Eguide rolls off the tongue better than Iguide. I sat on the decision on which to buy for a few days. One day I woke up and saw I.guide was no longer available and quickly snapped up e.guide.

@bigirck it also depends on your ability to hold the domain. I didn't have a big portfolio of names so when I decided to take a.guide I was OK to spend the 440. I sat on the purchase for about a week and watched other .guide names get regged that had been in my cart. I thought I can only find out if I can make money on it if I buy the damn thing!

I think if you have the funds; then go for it. I think this one is going to be hot result.

Think it's a risky domain to hold. $440 renewal pile up kinda quickly. Of course it can be sold with a nice profit but no guarantee. I only know of 1 sale over 1k and 1 rejected bid over 1k in .guide. A few play this game with high renewal new gTLD's, if they have the funds, fine but not how I approach things personally.

would you lower price on a domain that someone was paying you $400 a year to use?

dot tv held the price on premium regs for a minute, before they finally went down, but the .whatever launch is more of a money grab, than .tv was.
