they have

1) either taken out of sedo
2) increased the "buy now" price
3) or have been sold meanwhile

of course that has something to do with future price
as it shows a tendency at least

and lower supply has always a relation to price if demand is there

Yeah whatever.

The floor was $2.8-3k in October when i read the same things happening then, the floor is $2k today give or take. I deal with facts and the reality is I still see no correlation between the 2 events happening. It made no difference when this happened months ago and I doubt it makes much difference today either.

There could be many reasons for this happening as you mention above.

If you're right and we're about to see another big wave up then cool as i'll benefit from it like you will, but i'm not holding my breath.

It could be something, who knows either way.
Maybe at some stage soon prices will recover again.

For me I decided to hold my chips 4Ls until the begining of April. Then I'll re-decide sale or not sale (that is the question, lol)

Fair enough.

They've gone nowhere for months now and i've sold a number of mine for good prices lately, nothing below $2k or anything and am holding my last ones for now as I do think it will move up again, just not sure if they will go back to over $2.5k each any time soon.

Every time they go up a bit the market gets flooded with desperate sellers trying to get out with what they can, so don't see this cycle changing any time soon to be honest. If it does then i'll benefit with my last 4l chips and my 500+ 5l chips so pretty safe either way.

There are far better opportunities now in other spaces IMO.

It is not about special investors. GD just attracts more of them around the globe. Also it helps that they attract many end users increasing competition even for investors, because the expired auctions lead to a page where it shows the name is up for grabs.

The problem with Flippa, for example, is that it has mostly domain investors there trading with each other, very little attraction for end users. They also make this pattern worse by focusing on specific types of domain names and giving minimum exposure to good names, while in GD whichever name gets higher price bid gets automatic exposure on top.

Don't need to go far, a small group of people on NamePros recently started spamming all 4L sellers with $100 offers.

Why not just set a higher minimum offer if you get offended with low offers?

I think prices for 4l chips seem to be increasing slowly again.

In any event i'm now down to just 2 left, i've sold 5 in the last week or so all for very good prices above the current floor, so am happy with that. I've reinvested some of the money already in other areas that I think should present a far better ROI medium term. I've held 2 back for now in case they do finally start flying again towards $2.5k each levels.

FYI: 4l chips made me an awesome ROI as I bought many months ago. For those that bought in the last 3/4 months I can understand the frustration in prices going up and crashing again time and again as desperate sellers look to get out with something.

At some stage this cycle will stop once the big boys own these names but it may still take some time for this to happen IMO.

Prices do seem to be slowly edging up on 4l's. Nothing major but possible signs of another wave up on the way soon. I know 6n's are flying like crazy for days now so it wouldn't surprise me if 4l's are next.
