news We.com Sales Price Between $8m-$10m

Spaceship Spaceship
I have more information regarding the recent sale of We.com that you may all find interesting. As I reported last week, We.com recently changed hands, and at the time I speculated that the buyer was probably Chinese. I can now confirm that the buyer is Chinese, and Sedo did broker the deal using a Chinese broker (according to a source familiar with the deal).

The sales price of We.com has never been publicly revealed, but the seller of We.com has stated that the brokerage fee was "around $1m", which would bring the sales price of We.com to anywhere between $8m and $10m - meaning it would be one of the biggest domain sales ever.

We.com remains under privacy at Ename.com, a popular Chinese domain registrar, and the domain itself resolves to an Under Construction page. Plans for the domain name are unknown at this point.

Update on Aug 5, 2015: WE.com Sales Price was $8 Million. Buyer Revealed.

This would indeed be great news (if true) and even trumps my optimistic expectations of it having sold for at least over US$ 3 mio as voted on the Poll here some days ago.. *thumbs up*

Excellent bit of information James. Thank you for sharing!

By the way, I believe that the Roman Numeral M indicates 1,000 while the Roman Numeral MM indicates 1,000,000

The seller of We.com has stated that the brokerage fee was "around $1m."

This could easily be off by 5%.

I've seen brokerage fees range from 5-15%. Depends on the broker/venue. It's also important to note that fees tend go down as the price goes up. It might have even been a bigger sale.
