sales This Gmail Plugin Can Improve Your Outbound Domain Sales

Spaceship Spaceship
Up until a few weeks ago, I had a few Gmail plugins that I used religiously to help make my outbound sales process that little bit easier. I used Sidekick, WiseStamp, Rapportive, and a couple of other plugins. I never thought of using any others until a couple of weeks ago.

Since I've recently started to conduct more outbound sales, I found that organizing emails and leads was a little bit difficult. Tracking multiple leads on multiple domain names became quite a task in itself. In my previous article about Gmail plugins, NamePros user @Jen-Sin had mentioned a plugin called Streak that looked to be the answer to my problem.

A couple of weeks ago, I started to research Streak, and now I wonder how I've managed without it! This is just a personal point of view, but I think that the Streak plugin offers some excellent tools that can be applied to outbound domain sales; best of all, the basic package that I'll cover in this article is free.

Streak is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) plugin that can be used by an individual or a team of people to manage outbound sales of any kind, but I find that it is set up well to use with domain name sales. The plugin uses a series of labels and pipelines to allow you to easily sort your sales emails into separate lists with separate statuses.

You'll notice from the colorful screenshot above that the Streak sales panel has a number of customizable panels to monitor outbound sales leads that you've contacted. Sent and received emails can be placed into certain folders that also allow you to include notes on the leads.

I'll take you through a scenario of a recent domain sale that I conducted using Streak. I can't reveal the domain name, but it is a two-word generic .COM that I sold.

I gathered leads by looking through sources such as LinkedIn and Google to compile a list of companies and people within those companies who I needed to contact. Then, I sent each one of them a custom email from my Gmail account. Usually, I would do nothing more until a lead replied.

With Streak, I was able to create a custom "pipeline" and add each name and email to the pipeline. Along with Streak's built-in email tracker (similar to Sidekick), I was able to monitor when the emails were opened. If I received a reply (positive or negative), I was able to place these into specific categories.

I was also able to easily monitor the contacts who didn't reply, so after a week, I sent a follow-up email to each one via the pipeline I had created.

The Streak plugin turned my disorganized inbox into something I could easily track. Needless to say, I sold the domain name to one of these leads on the second email I sent to them. I truly believe that Streak helped me to achieve the sale, or at the very least, it made the sales process easier.

This is only my opinion, but Streak is a Gmail plugin that I will be using from now on. One word of advice: if you are a Sidekick user already and plan on installing Streak, I would be cautious. A combination of Sidekick and Streak left by inbox with more than a few bugs.

Thanks for passing on your INSIGHT mate!

I have been actually researching on this subject currently. After integrating all my domains into Efty, I have started my research on doing some Outbound! So far I have been reviewing Domainero, ZFBot, SpyFu, FollowUp, MailChimp, etc..

Awesome tip! Funny thing is I added streak and never used it since I simply thought it just had the same function as Sidekick. The way you explained it and illustrated it makes perfect sense. The way I was attempting to be organized was just adding the name and email to an excel document on Google docs and keeping track that way. Using streak will definitely save me time. Thanks again James.

Good post, another gmail/chrome plugin that I use is Sidekick by Hubspot, probably the best $10/month I've ever spent, been using it now for a year or so. It will show you when someone opens your email, clicks a link, etc.

Correct. According to Streak.com the program is only supported by Safari and Google Chrome.

Umm its a Gmail (Google) plugin. That's like failing to mention that you need a computer or an Internet connection.

Thanks for this tip. I using it since this thread created.
I wondering though how legitimate the tracking views are? My maximum views has been 6, and then 4, and a lot of 2. So I was thinking are they indeed reopened my message multiple times, or the message was sent for a group of recipients within the company by the person who opened it first? Or maybe the original recipient accidentally clicked in again?
Would it be appropriate to send a second message for those who opened it multiple times, after a week or so?

@James Iles you said you use WiseStamp for your outbound mail.
I've made some test on it for a message, with wise stamp signature in the message go to junk folder with many clients. The same message without nothing in signature reach the normal box.
Did you have better results with it inside?

@pablohc86 I have never had any problems with this. I have recently opted to switch to a custom GMail signature instead

made tons of other test.
if you have an email at hotmail you can try to send from your outbound email to there with signature from gmail or others like wise stamp. I'm sure that the mail will go in the junk folder at 99% if the outbound mail address is not added in the trusted list.
Btw it is all ok for a very amount of clients like mail for mac, gmail, thunderbird and so on.
