No you are not alone and its just not only XYZ but other extensions as well. Avoid posting your email address on public pages to avoid bots searching for email address crawling all over the internet

I seem to find a pattern with spam that correlates with domain extensions that are on sale. If that particular period is some sell-out of some extension it will probably be used by spammers to make a new snow shoe from that extension.

Then it was also stranged I received a black reddish dot icon. And it says delete dot com. Has any has knowledge or experienced with this issues? I have a feeling this activities was all negative.

I'm not sure where it came from; I have gmail. But this kind of unwanted uninvited activities it's just an inappropriate behavior. I wish there are some site out there that will track this kind of activities. And I hate both player & games. I don't have time for this kind of behavior. Why are you blocking my screen? Preventing me from moving on with my business. It is just so unacceptable behavior. And this kind of activities should be stop and penalized!

Got a few spams from .xyz... that's what happens with cheap extensions. In fact, my limited experience with .xyz can be summed up as receiving spam, and I am not the only one.

All this talk about spam on a particular extension except dotcom is just weird.
Because most of the spam I get in my many email address end with .com.
That includes the junk offering web services pounding my inbox every time I register a new domain.

I will go to my yahoo account which I have not checked in a year and was at 99999+ unread back then. I will count a few hundred spams and see who the winning extension is.. All this is just bashing extensions other than .com I get it. Com is King :) (which I agree)
BUT
I am willing to bet my spam mail count will place .com as king as well..

You should be careful: these spam emails may contain viruses and malware.

Finally another intelligent individual and that's alright if you don't invest in XYZ but the fact that someone decided to create a thread based off spam reports in their email box because of XYZ is just "funny to say the least."

Ditto, get quite a bit of spam from .XYZ. Give domains away and for cheap and they become the spammers choice. They should adopt that as their slogan...

.XYZ - The Spammers Choice!

I hate any extension given away free or sold for change as they turn into spam machines.

We blocked all .xyz domains from email about a year ago or more. Shortly after it came out and the spam inundation began.

The difference, of course, between .com spam and .xyz spam is that legitimate email comes in from .com, but not from .xyz -- it's just all spam.

Haha. Listen you gotta give a taste for their to be some attention. Was their a lot of attention, yes. But their will be a time for this to be madeup; trust me on that. You can think drug users who tried coke for the first time would just sling some money into the dealers hand without a taste. Lol. How would they know. Now I do agree that the bag was opened a little bit longer but again the attention brings publicity ...

All I'm saying is that the few times people are exposed to .xyz, it is in a negative manner.
This is bad for the image of the TLD. If people perceive that .xyz is a spammers' nest, they will dismiss it as not legitimate (another .biz or something).
Of course you could replace .xyz with .top or .pw.

Cheap extensions are typically abused by spammers. Pursuing an aggressive growth strategy through cheap prices comes at a price: credibility.

The same can be said about gun companies. "Just because I sell you a gun doesn't mean you need to go out and murder innocent people."

"Just because I sell my extensions so cheap, doesn't mean you need to go out and spam innocent people."

Let's talk more about your coke usage  Kidding

I get the concept give it away to get a user base but if your inbox leads to 100% spam from the extension and people set filters to block the extension then a few bad apples ruin it for anyone legitimate so a sale is okay but I personally would never give away an extension or sell it for .99 etc... as then you know who will be buying them up=Spammers

Pursuing an aggressive growth strategy through cheap prices comes at a price: credibility.
