As we know, many domainers send emails to promote their names to the buyers. Do you have any funny replies by them? Don't post names or addresses, only the messages!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I wrote in the mail that its a very good domain in certain category and I got reply:

If it is a very good domain, why don't you use it?

"I will give you 2,50$ and my autograph"

''It's a good domain but I have no internet.''
Got it via email  haha
I knew he actually meant '...no money' but it seemed that he didn't want to say it.

"That's a ripoff! I wouldn't pay more than $100 for this! Tell your seller he's out to lunch!"

- A reply from someone when I was emailing/brokering for a 7-figure domain, which I won't name here. So many people, even big business owners, still don't understand that there is an actual domain trade out there and that premium category-killer dot com's can market value in the six and seven figures or more. I get these kinds of replies almost every day that I send out emails for premiums. But this reply was especially entertaining. I did in fact tell my seller that he was out to lunch, but he still wouldn't take the $100 offer.

I don’t need it. But you can buy my company and have everything.

"Wow! $3K for a cutesy domain. I just wanted to use it as a gag site to share with friends. How about this, I'll offer you $1K, my next child (I have too many already), and a case of your favorite microbrew."

Never insult a ''unusual'' buyer. Be calm. You never know. Some positive replies come after days or weeks.

I once marketed a relevant two-word .COM in the game sector. Response....

F%$! Off!

I once marketed a brandable .COM to a local magazine asking if they would be interested without stating a price. They said yes. I responded with a low $XXX price which they stated was way too expensive. I wonder how much their advertising rates are for a one-page ad? Probably more than that.

I got this guy from France ... Very Wierd. He sent me an email asking for a price .... I said that I was open to offers if He was interested, he said: "No, i really dislike your kind of activities, i can’t call this business."

I replied: "Hum, ok ... Why did you ask then ? Are you having problem with people making money ?"

He said: "You already know that your job not something that you can be proud of.
I don’t have any problem with earning money, i have a problem with parasitism of the people that really work and produce something."

Really, it's so difficult just to say ''No, thanks?''

There was an article by will and omar (IIRC) about how to take these responses with a grain of salt because they are valid potential end-users :)

Funniest I had was "It's just a domain name get a real job"

I haven't had any funny ones yet...just a couple rude ones that might be too inappropriate to post.
Have you ever had an end user say something like "But you just registered that. Are you crazy" when selling a hand-regged domain? Or expect to buy at a lower price because they've proved to you that they know you just regged it?
I have a lot of hand-regs..and I'm always expecting this to happen, since I would think there has to be at least one person who I contacted that knows about the whois history and has checked it. Maybe they have thought it but never said it in reply.

So far this one wins the prize. Very funny.
