On July 08, 2014 I got an email notifying me that one of my domain has sold on GoDaddy Auction then I list another domains at that time for 7 days auction. Yesterday I saw 4 (or maybe 5) of my domains has been sold to one person. But this morning when I login back to my auction account its keep redirect me to the support page.

I send an email to [email protected], and got this reply:
Dear Sir or Madam,

Your Auctions membership has been suspended indefinitely due to activity in violation of our terms of service. This decision is final and no further information will be given.

Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way.

Regards,

Jess V.
Aftermarket Support

They said I've violated their terms of service while I believe I never do something that might violate their TOS such as shill bidding or unable to pay for won auction etc. I'm guessing the problem is because all domains are sold to one buyer and their system detect it as illegal activity.

So be careful when list a domains on GoDaddy auction!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Got the payment for one domain recently after tweet this thread to their twitter support. But still wondering why I getting banned, they keep silent and won't tell me what the reason is.

Godaddy is just flat out corrupt. I have dealt with them over a year and have lost about 80% of what I started with because of their lack of service, as well as neglect towards me as a customer.

I had a supervisor threaten to go into my account personally to change stuff and Godaddy company swore up and down no one would ever say that to me, especially a supervisor.

Most of the people in the CEO's office never leave that office apparently, even though they claim high standards of running Godaddy, the reality is, some group of college kids somewhere run the part of Godaddy that the CEOs claim to have control over.

Also, they DO NOT help anyone who is not American and can speak clear English. I have seen this happen almost 90% of all reviews of Godaddy that I have experienced.

Personally, I have helped my friend in Egypt many times to do stuff with his Godaddy services. In fact, when he asked me the first time, he paid them for more services just to get the extra support. But in fact, he says, all he does is wait and wait on the phone and no one ever answers, and when they do, he doesn't get help. I never have a problem helping him and understanding through our different language-based communications.

Godaddy however, will sell you 2 services, and then immediately tell you that you cannot use them both together.

Godaddy is a corporate joke. A group of brain injured people could run that company better than it is being run today.

I was shocked when I registered 150 domains (.com) all in one go at godaddy. I had about 560 domains in my account and normally buy in batches of 12-40 at a time (i.e. nothing major). There wasn't any real cost benefit from registering them in bulk all at one time but no reason to split up into 5 batches. They detected "illegal activity" or "fraud" or something. I then had to email across details of my business including the bank account statement. A bit annoying, but I didn't mind. I earned that money not stole it!

Then they demanded a copy of my passport, amongst tax documents etc, which I refused. Seemed like they were digging for information. After all, the details on whois matches up with the company details, payment was via debit card (not credit card) - the bank allowed the payment, and I had to go through visa verification also.

* They didn't cancel the domains, they refused to make them available (was within grace period)
* They refunded me, took about 3 additional working days
* I spent the refunded money buying the list at a different registrar in .co.uk
* They sent all the domains to auction!
* I transferred out 520 domains to other registrars, allowed a couple to expire and pushed the rest to other godaddy accounts after selling them, then closed the account.

150 new domains might be excessive for a new user or even a new payment method might be suspicious... but after being a long term customer and having a bulk registration tool available (does up to 1000 I think) I didn't think it was such a big issue. Seemed petty and someone following overcomplicated procedure.

it's all a scheme. They saw you put in big money and they did what they could to cost you an extra dollar.

Just like with me, they sold me all these extra services and then started taking them away after I was told I would have them for 2 years.

Then of course, since I had over $100 domains, they did the same to me, I had supervisor threaten my account security, my SSL certificate was deleted and had very many issues, taking up over 1 year of my 2 year agreement.

Most of my domains were dropped, now I have half of that, and only 2 running sites, after a plan to start over 10 over a year ago.

Again, Godaddy is a huge joke. They advertise that they will help your business be seen. Yeah, by you purchasing a website, and by you paying to have someone build it....that's how they help...no other ways

BUT THEY HAVE COUPONS!!!!!!

There's always another side to the story. Not sure if you actually called them yet. If something like that happened to me, I would be calling. Maybe there wasn't anything fishy going on, maybe there was.

This whole "it's a scheme" nonsense doesn't hold up. They get a cut of the action when somebody sells a domain. There is no reason for them to do something that results in them getting less business, that wouldn't make much sense.

Do not blame godaddy if you buy xxx amount of domains at one time and the bill for all that enters into the thousands of dollars.
USA government anti-laundering rules come into play.

And I agree with JB Lions.
They do not ban or suspend accounts willy nilly, as that costs them money.
So there has to be more to the story.

Thank you all..

I wish I could talk to them over the phone but I'm not an English speaker so the only way I can do is try to reach them via chat and email support. But neither of these ways can help me out, their chat person always recommend me to contact the auction department via email, sending a email then wait for ages and just get repeated messages. Their decision to not tell me the suspension reason is not make a sense for me. I'm pissed off.

again, nothing other than a scheme...I shouldn't have to do the math for anyone, even the people paid by Godaddy to come comment.

Domains are $2.99.....you call twice, once before purchase and once after purchase, you already used up that 2.99 in phone support man-hours.

The whole 'scheme' behind it is the fact that they know you bought XXX domains. In time, XXX of those will be renewed, and the plan, to renew with Godaddy.

However if half of XXX cannot be renewed due to money reasons, then Godaddy made 1/2 estimated profit from your sale, without any man-hours paid for. And how many of the people commenting on this post have ever let a domain drop?

Already people are complaining about Godaddy being a scheme of some sort because of the title posted, and of course someone wants to say that's not true.....so let me do some mathematics.....

#1: we are talking about 2 different things, I am talking about Godaddy as a whole being a scheme and a joke, while the person who thinks Godaddy is cool is only talking about Godaddy Auction services only......

#2. contrary to your argument, not every domain is sold on Godaddy. I just sold one for $500 elsewhere, was Godaddy pissed? When I call they now tell me by spending $100 with Godaddy, I would save more than that later....wow, yeah $20 more in a whole year. Hip hip! I bet Godaddy asks you to spend another $100 with them too everytime you call (if you havent bought in already, which I'm sure you did)

#3. Of course there is another side to the story, however, the 'other side' was told and some of you completely ignore that, claiming now Godaddy's business story is the unknown 'other side' of the story, and you are taking up for a company instead of helping someone maybe understand why this company is in fact breaking the law, and why he isn't but paying for it?

Because yeah, someon actually commented and said the starter of the thread is very much breaking laws, even though Godaddy was never claimed to be breaking federal laws by this post or its poster, the commenting parties sure put the blame on someone without any blame in the air. Very funny, very funny

And the results.....since you know so much about Godaddy, go talk to them for this guy, and bring back an answer.

If not, Godaddy is in fact a scheme, do the math yourself, before you start blaming someone for breaking federal mandate laws.

There's 2 sides to every story.....so why would you EVER side with Godaddy (a company) before you hear both sides of the story?

You quite possibly work/benefit from Godaddy....that's why

There is no reason for them to do something that results in them getting less business, that wouldn't make much sense.

No, it doesn't, but there are plenty of stories on this forum about people being blocked or threatened with being blocked by Godaddy.

Probably it does make sense from their point of view to eliminate any customer who might generate any extra costs or risks. I doubt they care what we say.

Yes they did once threaten to block my account because I asked a factual question about the ads they put on the free hosting they had - I wasn't asking them to remove that, just asking if they could improve the coding of it. I was amazed at their reaction.

I think they also do something really heavy if you email anyone at all trying to sell a domain registered at Godaddy - there was a thread here by someone that happened to.

For info, I have always found it quick and easy to ring them.

Those threads exist because there are scammers out there. And when caught, usually like to play all innocent. Are there times where someone innocent might get caught up? Sure and that can happen anywhere but most were probably doing something wrong.

And the scheme stuff is still nonsense. Usually when someone is involved in a scheme, it's to make more money, not less.

For what this thread is about, GoDaddy Auctions. There is no reason at all for them to kill legit accounts.

Domains .com, on sale $2.99

I just bought bought 4, the first was 99 cents 1.17 after ican fees, then i got the other 3 for 1.99 with coupons

$7 made today, if it ever goes down more than an hour this year they have missed out any profit to telephone tech support...which in my experience, I have spent more hours on the phone times minimum wage, than I have paid to Godaddy.

On the part of Godaddy auctions, I have just purchased 4 domains there also totaling about $80. Each of these domains, in my experience, should pull $500 or more each. Where's Godaddy's profit there when I sell it elsewhere? I've tried to sell domains with Godaddy, never sold one in over a year. I have been with Sedo a week and sold one for $500 there.

Godaddy profits $20 per domain, Sedo profits $75.......

The coupons get the domains regged/transferred there, the money is made on renewals and upsells.

Example. I get transfers all the time for a $3 and under. But I usually renew there, also pay for the Discount Club. They make money on that as well. If you have a lot of domains, you actually save, cheaper than other places.

Auctions, they simply get a cut of the action, also yearly membership fee. Again, there is no benefit to them cutting out anything legit. I sell a domain there for $1,500, they get $150. They're not going to cut legit sales like that off.

"I've tried to sell domains with Godaddy, never sold one in over a year."

That's not on GoDaddy, that would be more on the quality of domains or how you set it up. I've sold plenty over there. And the threadstarter just sold like 6 in a week.

It sometimes depends also on the person you get on the phone.

Well apparently, since you are playing completely ignorant to the facts JBLION

It was on Godaddy.
It was the same domain sold on Sedo for $500 that everyone here told me wasn't worth $20.
And I waited over a year with Godaddy auctions, without selling anything, and within 1 week of being with Sedo, it was sold.

Sad sad world, when you have to ignore the true facts, just because you want people to think the way you think.....

Everyone here is talking about Godaddy and Godaddy auctions......JB's response

"That's not on GoDaddy"

Pathetic man, I hope you don't treat you're real family this way, which is I mean, ignoring the facts....you can put it any other way it spells out too. I can't believe someone who can claim to have any knowledge on anything, ignores half of the facts......

Sounds like you have no knowledge at all at the subject we are talking about JB Lion, so why comment when your comment is that we are all liars?

Especially when you clearly don't know much on the subject, you shouldn't ignore other facts just so that your comment maybe looks good to someone

I hate when people do wrong then come and complain about it. GoDaddy just does not go around suspending auctions accounts for no reason. They may "review" your account for no reason, but they do not SUSPEND your account without reason.

If you do wrong, man up and be prepared to face the consequences. Don't come and making threads complaining about the stuff. `

You either was shill bidding or did not pay for a name.

What in the world are you talking about? I never said you didn't sell a domain on Sedo. You were talking about not being able to sell a domain on GoDaddy. I pointed out, I have, the threadstarter has, lots of people here have. If you have domains that don't sell at GoDaddy or anywhere else, that's not on them. They're just a platform to sell. I've seen people before blame GoDaddy, Sedo, Afternic etc for their names not selling and when you actually take a look at their names, it's pretty clear why, they're usually junk.

As I said I never shill bidding or didn't pay for an auction that I won, all names received only one bid from the same buyer, the bids are coming at the last minutes before auctions end.

I must be an idiot if I placing a bids to 4-5 my own auctions at the last minute of closes time while there are no bids then must pay for those name and only get return 90% of the money that I have paid for each names.
