Hello Guys,

I want to know about namesilo. How good they are? Any disadvantage having domains with them?

Currently I am using Godaddy, Name.com and namecheap

When do you guys plan on supporting some of the new TLDs? I'd like to transfer some there, but I can't right now.

We are planning on offer support of several of the new gTLDs within the next 1-2 months (hopefully sooner). We'll have more details in announcements that will be forthcoming.

Thanks

Yes, we currently have about 175 TLDs on our site. We will be adding several more early next week. Unfortunately, .club is not on that release list. Hopefully within a month or so after. Thanks

Dot NET is on sale at NameSilo.
You can get a .NET domain for $4.39 for the first year. This is without (before) any code or program discount ... so it can get even a bit lower.
It doesn't look like there is a limit for the number of domain you can register with this price.

I have been sick of namesilo's DNS or name server updates
I have changes name servers for one domain running a site with hostgator when ever i visit the site it's showing their own stuff i contacted them in the start and they told me it's the ISP and may take up-to 48H but now it's been weeks the same bullshit. Never had this issue with godaddy (will come back daddy now i know u) and never had this issue with 1and1 which is considered the worst around

I like NameSilo. There prices are reasonable and they have a timely responsive customer service. I also use their API.

Namesilo is good, I have already transferred about 15 domains from godaddy to them
i still have about 7 more to transfer. Namesilo's customer care email seem very impressive, i sent them emails twice yesterday and got a response in less than 2 minutes on both occasions

Godaddy is becoming a complete nuisance with the $15 renewal with no coupon out there
they then tell you to join on nonsense club.

i prefer a flat rate $8 with no coupon than a $1 entry and $15 renewal.

I am looking to register around 65 .com domains soon. Can someone please help me find the best coupon for my case?

Other option is NameSilo, bulk registration discount at $8.69 per name. I was very satisfied with them.

I am interested in free WHOIS privacy, but I would like to know if we as customers are still the owners of the site, or do you own our domains?

We would be listed as the Registrant in WHOIS, but your information would be escrowed with ICANN as the Registrant. At no time do we claim any ownership over domains using our WHOIS privacy service.

Thanks

Sorry about that - we had a bug in our script that added new domains. They should be coming online now. Also, we are in the final steps of launching a much more expanded marketplace which will include all domains - not just expired domains. We will have much more information tomorrow. Thanks

Just had my first sale through the new namesilo marketplace!

I'd like to point out that not all the search filters work correctly right now. i.e. If you choose the “Age 5-9 yrs”, the domains shown are only from 2010-2011. If you choose “Age 0-1 yrs” it still shows all the domains, not just those that are 0-1 years old.

It would be good if you could add more sorting filters to the marketplace, so that it would be easier to navigate the marketplace, and look for certain types of domains.

Perhaps you could add search filters like
- min/max price ranges for reserves and buy it now prices, or just a "max price" filter
- filter by auction ending in x number of days
- the option to choose custom domain age ranges (or at least break the pre-set age filters into much smaller ranges than those set right now)
- search only numbers (add a "characters" yes/no filter)
- to the search bar add the option to specify whether the domain starts with, ends with, or just contains the specified keyword

any new coupons? TRYNAMESILO seems to have expired...

I don't like pre-funding (because you can't change your mind ;) ) and I don't like the fact that the privacy is only free for 1 year. For NameSilo it's free for as long as you renew.
NameSilo also has some discount for pre-founding. Don't know how much it is.

I liked NameSilo's $7.99 price and purchased one domain but now realized that the $1 off coupon works once per customer. So I was just about to pre-fund my NameBright account and I thought that I will use NameBright for all future purchases! $8 per .com is awesome right

Hello Everyone,

We are using Namesilo now for around 8 months, and we are completely SATISFIED.

We are considering seriously to start reselling with NameSilo after comparing Namesilo/GoDaddy/ResellerClub and few of other registrars.

Only concern which is bugging us is defined in the following situation;

Our company offers $9.50 registration and $1 privacy service.
- End users register domains, and later check whois service and see Name Silo name.
- End users visit name Silo and notice $8.39 registration fee and free privacy service.

Any guidance for such scenario from NameSilo or any other seniors?

Plus do you have any plans to offer re-selling of Email Accounts and SSLs?

Thanks,
GlareHost

Thanks - appreciate your kind words and feedback!

Yes, we understand the issue of customers potentially doing a WHOIS lookup and finding ourselves as the sponsoring registrar and then going to our site to fund lower pricing than you may offer. We have considered getting a new registrar registered with ICANN to serve as our "reseller registrar", but do not have a timetable in place for this addition. I can tell you that we have nearly 1,000 active resellers and it has been extremely rare that we have heard feedback of their customers expressing concern with the scenario I described above. Again, we understand the issue and the concern and this is something we will continue considering as our reseller program continues to grow.

No, we do not currently have any places to sale/resell Email or SSL.
