The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
true i even offered this to you forge for that deal we made recently lol. But forge called the registrar and he was able to push afterwards
Completely forgot that was our transaction!

You had great patience while I sorted out our "problem" and you are a trusted member in my book.

Although the issue seems to be resolved on surface, I would still request from the second party (Chetan) to poke Network Solutions and not let them get away this easily. If there was a chargeback, they should clearly mention it. What they are mentioning, is no chargeback but just that the domain was never renewed. In this case just a simple question: "How the hell domain got pushed to another netsol account(s) if it was expired as netsol doesn't allow the push of any domain even after just 1 day of expiry?"

Chetan, you should either call them as they suggested. If you can't call, re-open the support ticket and demand them they clarify this issue via the support ticket itself as you are unable to make a call.

also to mention the domain was pushed twice between 3 accounts. The previous owner gave me his account then i transferred to my account then i transferred to chetans account. if it was expired would this be allowed?

With link to this thread of course so their bottom moves.

I've learn 2 things in 2013.

1.Stay away from NetworkSolutions (even for free and cheap domains!)
2.Stay away from 1and1 (even for free and cheap hosting and domains!)

Total loss of $250 :)

But you can find worst stories on google ;)

Hm, I learn that 2014/5 :)
Total loss: $3.000 so far
1und1 is bad story all the way.

Hmmmm I always wondered why Godaddy asked for renewal fee when I buy an expired domain on their auctions website cause I could always see that it had a year left. Now I understand it then.

I think its time to give chetan his refund.

Well, do we have the FULL STORY?

You seem to keep withholding pieces of information that keep slowly coming out.

Chetan's beef is with you. I think he should get his money back.

Your beef is with the seller on Flippa. You should be after Flippa to get the information of the person they dispersed the money to and get them to do whatever they can in their power to recover the money.

Unless there is more to this story?

I think its time to give chetan his refund.

I don't think you have intentionally set out to scam, but I'd say that there is a good chance that chetan doesn't have his domain as a result of your actions, and that he doesn't have what he paid for.

Do you think you should be $1000+ in profit from this transaction?

Do you still have access to this account? Because you see that link right there in the email? The one where the original account holder can claim the account right back?

How do you know that the login details were from an account which was owned by that seller? They could have been obtain from phishing or keylogging.

I'm sure I'm not the only domainer who has just read that chat transcript and observed the fact that you are happy to be sitting on $1000+ of chetan's money and decided that they'd simply never, ever, do business with you.

Do I think you are a scammer? No, a liability perhaps.

Do I think you should have $1000+ of chetan's money in your paypal account? No, I don't.

I think you should at the bare minimum have offered him the profit back as a starting point (sale price minus $440, until you resolve with flippa if possible).

Thanks for understanding my points :)

I do really appreciate it

yes i have emailed them with what Kevin said. waiting for reply still. yes i agree his ban is a red flag which might indicate he was the problem in this in which case i will refund chetan his money and take the loss on my side

refund issued to chetan. Now hopefully the scammer "Jack" is discovered and gets banned from every auction platform so noone has to go through him. and also move out all your domains from NetworkSolutions is my advice as you see what can happen.

Also apologies to Chetan for calling him the scammer and hopefully he can do the same as im not a scammer either and we can find the real culprit in this one which looks like "Jack"

Thanks for the Refund.
Apologies for calling you scammer. there was a bit of misunderstanding and now things are much clear.
You are a Great Guy James and definitely I will be happy doing business with you in near future

i will make sure that Net Sol does not run away with it so easily.

Has Flippa shined any light on the seller yet? What about the mods on namepros regarding that user account?

2015-01-28: Last WHOIS update before 2015 expiration date; owner is Long Island Online Services, Inc
2015-07-21: Domain expired with registrar (NETWORK SOLUTIONS, LLC; IANA ID 2)
2015-08-25: Dropcatchers were reporting that Lio.net had expired and was pending drop the same day
2015-08-25: Lio.net dropped; picked up by NameJet
2015-08-29: Lio.net picked up and sold by NameJet for $1,800
2015-09-02: Lio.net parked with Sedo

The domain was not renewed in July. Part of NameJet's deal with Network Solutions is that they agree to back-pay the renewal costs. The domain was renewed on 8/25 by NameJet.

Without taking into account either of the stories written here, the history of these domain seems pretty clear: an end-user owned it, it expired, NameJet got it, high bidder bought for $1,800. I don't see how anyone else mentioned--James or Chetan--ever had their hands on this domain in this timeframe.

I'm not going to read all 15 pages of speculation, but I noticed mention of Flippa while skimming through. It looks like this auction probably took place shortly after NameJet sold the domain. At first, this leads me to believe that Chetan bought the domain from Danny ort privately, resulting in the auction being cancelled shortly after its creation. But this doesn't quite make sense: if I understand correctly, Chetan bought it for $440, but Danny ort bought it only days prior for $1,800. That math doesn't quite add up. Nevertheless, we'll ignore that for now, because...

2015-09-11: (+/- 2 days) Nameservers for Lio.net now point to ns1/ns2.cyanhost.com. WHOIS for cyanhost.com has Chetan's name.

So, without doubt, by 2015-09-11, Chetan was the rightful owner of the domain.

Then we have this curious event:

2015-09-15: (+/- 2 days) Nameservers for Lio.net now point to ns2626/ns1626.ztomy.com

ztomy's server redirects to malware distribution sites, probably for affiliate pay. So, here's how it works:
  1. You go to one of ztomy's websites
  2. You get a virus
  3. ztomy (or someone else--does it matter?) gets your usernames, passwords, credit cards, and (evil laugh) domains.

@chetan9693, @James Rodman, one of you got hacked. If that domain ever made it into your account, James, it was you. Otherwise, it was Chetan.

My secret sources lead me to believe that James was the unfortunate victim. That's not definitive, though. There's also the remote possibility that Chetan or James is the culprit behind ztomy. ;)

tl;dr: One of you needs to change your passwords. Probably both of you just to be safe. :)

To everyone else who reads this and feels the need to investigate ZTOMY: Don't. You'll end up in the same mess.

New Ventures LLC is a division of Network Solutions, btw. You can look up their 570 number it resolves to several Network Solutions departments.

I think this is the whois they use when sending domains to auction at Namejet (please someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Danny Ort is James Rodman, who didn't sell the name on flippa.

Chetan didn't buy the domain from flippa, and didn't buy it for $440.

James Rodman (Danny Ort) purchased the domain for $440 on flippa, and then sold it to Chetan for $1000+

I highly doubt networksolutions are scamming people, maybe they are just ruthless business practices because they have been in business since the start along with the other early risers in the domain industry.

Bah, I can't keep track of who did what. Point is, somebody who doesn't care about your security/privacy/sanity now has the domain.

Maybe, maybe not. Hard to say which one of you for sure. You should both change your passwords, just to be safe--though that won't fix the problem if you still have malware. (Or maybe it was just a successful phishing attack; could've been a million things.) This ztomy guy has the domain now, and I doubt he's going to be interested in parting ways with it. Of course, if Network Solutions and Public Domain Registry both cooperate, you may be able to get it back, but that's always a matter of luck. Whoever had the domain last would have to contact them about that. (Chetan, in this case?)

Or ztomy could be Chetan's. Or yours. Who knows :)

ok then previous owner "jack" is innocent and everyone blaming me on here for dealing with "Jack" are also wrong as he looks innocent in all this from what Paul is saying. Also now we know flippa isnt involved in this but still curious to see he was banned there

thanks for clearing this up this makes it a lot easier now and we can eliminate certain people who we thought were at fault (jack)

WHOIS for ztomy com reveals this:
Code:
Registration Service Provided By: SKENZO FZE

Seems to have something to do with http://skenzo.com/.

lio.net was definitely owned by Chetan at one point, which means it left your account. WHOIS doesn't lie. Ethically, Chetan should be taking the loss on this one, unless you'd rather compromise.
