I want to create a clean webpage to display my brandable domains through simple logos. The names are mostly two word brandables and very creative. look almost like how catchy.com has their's. Which of the following domains would be ideal and why(all .coms):

  1. AlliedDomains/names
  2. NameHood
  3. SavvyDomains
  4. NameTable
  5. NamesFolio
  6. DomainInnovation
  7. NamesTag
  8. MyNames (.net)
  9. DNnerd.com
  10. Namees
Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
If we cannot convince ourselves of the value of acquiring and paying for a good domain name for our domain business, why should we expect end users to do any different? I guess now we understand why there is such reluctance to actually pay more than reg fee for a domain.
I agree. I believe in investing in our brand wholeheartedly.
Seeking good advice is not outing on that but it's one of the best ways to gauge what you already have and if nothing works then invest in something that does based on the advice.

I see your point, however, sometimes you can find a brandable that may be available for register. Domain sellers are just like any other business - you have to consider the costs and weigh out the options.

But we are probably not your customer - that is why I prefer the string "name" because for the enduser it is about naming a business, a domain is a much less familiar and meaningful term to them than it is to a domainer. It's always interesting explaining to a non-tech person just what a "domain name" is and how you get and use one.

A lot depends on how people get to your site - if they typed in the domain they want to buy to get there a bare-bones contact form is enough.

Especially if they're trying to sell food to vegetarians.

I would take the NameHood because it describes what you might get at your page and the same time it is somehow close as a word hood is abaout something familiar. However, you did a great job, these are worth attention domain names. Cheers

Name Table is easily the best in my opinion.

Maybe you should go back to the drawing table and do more brain storming. I think none of these domains are solid enough to make a brand. If you are going to sell domain names, then I think you need a domain that commands a minimum of respect. Biggie is right, what matters is the quality of the names you're selling, but I think we should lead by example if we want to be taken seriously.

I am not saying that you should turn to the aftermarket, but perhaps spending a few hundreds would put an end to the dilemma and you could have a name that makes you happy. If you are not willing to pay more than regfee for your front window, *maybe* you are not serious about it really, and don't even believe in your business idea...

And considering the time and expense involved in running a site, will it pay for itself? Is it worth it? The alternatives are already there.

Thanks for the list. At this point I will go to plan B which is to invest in a quality domain related name or brandable etc... Once I can afford to do so.

Good that youve made up your mind. Good luck with your startup!

IMHO. You should still be looking for a brandable made-up/dictionary word or LV/VL combo, 5-7 chars.

@rivey001 , keep us updated with the name you decide to go for. I personally like NameTable.

Out of your list, I like SavvyDomains best, the one drawback being that people may misspell "savvy".

I would also recommend going with "brands" rather than "domains." Sounds classier and is what people are really looking for anyway. Nametable could be anything if heard out of context - sounds like a list of possible baby names, or even a furniture site. It's passable, but the "table" part doesn't bring anything to the table.

Thanks.
I really feel drawn to the word: "savvy" It fits what I'm doing: ( brand names that are creative, smart, and innovative) I like "brands" myself. I'm leaning towards a 4-7 letter brandable that may have no domain keywords in it or a solid brand or domain related name that leave no doubts.

I love to hear "That was a hand reg?!?"
SO, I kinda feel like if I'm a pro, I should be able to find my own name.
Not buy one from someone else, and prove they're better than me.
Do I have a pride issue or does it make some sense?

Both in a way.
In order to be confident in understanding the value of names you need to know you can find valuable names. The only way you can know if you can do this is to be told they are good names or to sell them.
But ask yourself - if you buy an awesome name for $200 is that worse than a getting a good name for regfee?

Finding a great regfee name is fun and a challenge though. It's worth it just for that.

What is the value of a handreg - the regfee or the price sold to the enduser? You see, vegetarians happen to eat fish, too. :)

Not attempting to change your mind, rivey001, like I said its good to make a decision and stick to it. Id like to hear your choice, when you make it, too.
