What are your thoughts on .online domains?
It's very generic and not as ugly as .xyz for example, so that's a plus - but perhaps a little too long to have any success...
Plus most good names are either unavailable or premium...

too long and the fact you are typing an url in a browser that is connected means you are online anyway ...

i think xyz more fancy.

So right now opinions are pretty spread out (1 each)
I only preregistered 3 - it's $15 at Godaddy so what the heck.
2 will be quite popular I think - they might go to auction. In this case - pass from me.
Third one less popular but I like it a lot - a few thousand names (also in a form of xxxxxonline.ext) include that keyword.

yes , i agree, the fact that people are more and more tech savvy and also use computers from younger age also will influence them, it's like asking someone 'if You have money now ' ( mean you have money in the credit card in your pocket...

Too long of an extension for me with no real meaning behind it.
Yes... we are "online", why would I want to type that long tailed extension in an address?

Its not for me, so I will not be getting any.

Just my thoughts
Cheers

I'm not a big fan but if you dig around deap enough there's some good regs. .online is long therefore you need to find short keywords they forgot to price as premiums.

I just reged stay .online

Had to pay early reg fee but it's the normal yearly fee moving forward. Stay .online is a great name for a hosting company, or anything Internet related, products etc. IMO. :xf.smile:

the same people who fell for .site .website might also fall for .online

This is why everyone should be careful in how you reg within an extension. Stay .website, Stay .site makes no sense what so ever. But Stay .online works.

We all want to Stay .online :xf.wink:

What are your thoughts on .online domains?

Seems redundant. I think in 2015, people get that when you're on the internet, you're "online". I know a lot of new gtlds were based on how many times the keyword was found in other domains but a lot those were probably registered early on.

I registered stopwatch.online

but I think .online can indicate that the thing or transaction is taking place online, for example earnmoney.online , or paytaxes.online..etc...it is more meaningful than paytaxes.site, or paytaxes.xyz..

"stopwatch online" is around 40K monthly searches, "online stopwatch" is around 350K monthly searches, average cpc is around $1, so I will try to develop it and it might turn to a long term revenue website....maybe...

"online" is more brandable than the generic sounding .site or .website. For example, tv stations will sound hipper saying "find out more at e.online / abc.online" than their more bland sounding alternatives.

.online is more expensive...cant register keyword online names for normal regfee...all above $500

I was surprised to have gotten a few of the .online names in the pre-registration. This was my first foray into the pre-registration area and I'm cautiously optimistic for an upside. (I need an upside here as I picked-up a bunch of .IO's from people who made a nice profit after getting them in the pre-registration...gulp)

My names are all strong keyword and heavily searched names like-

LearnSpanish.Online
TravelDeals.Online

Should I be happy or running?

I think .online is a nice little sleeper extension, fairly cheap too!

I grabbed:

Interact.online
3dChat.online
Planroom.online
StreamTV.online
