I guess it was worth mentioning that it was listed at BIN

I think minimum commission is set at $60 no matter how you price it and also I think there is VAT added on top of it due to some recent changes - I don't even bother pricing my domains on Sedo below $600.

@OP : That's correct. Afaik, that's their minimum commission

It used to be $60 but they upped it recently

That's a terrible first experience to have as a domainer...

I'm sorry that happened to you.

You might be able to convince a manager to lower the commission, mention something about why on earth would sedo recommend selling at 99$ to you if they take pretty much all the money.

I've managed to persuade companies to bend the trick is making a compelling argument and twisting things so it's their fault, persistence, and well luck.

I had almost the same thing happen to me with Sedo back in 2008. First Sedo sale. They took almost all the money. I went back and forth with a supervisor for two weeks. They absolutely refused to budge. I can't remember the details now. But it was something like a $60 sale and they took $50 commission.

That's what I kinda assumed. Your best bet may be to say something like you run a blog with "x" amount of users and you post reviews about products and services, give them a big fat F. Has worked in the past for me, and it was a complete bluff.

I'm all outta cards now.

Hi,

My cheapest names at SEDO are priced at $195. Starting from next year, my minimum price will be $295.

I've never sold through sedo and after reading this I immediately went and bumped my prices up a bit.

Why not change them now though?

You can increase the price to adjust sedo commission. But there should be buyers interested in that level.

That's obvious. ;)

I've only sold about 6-7 domains at SEDO the last year, but I think most of them are rather fairly priced. With some exceptions, but I will "correct" those later on.

I will not renew most of my $195-ones so I will simply delete them from SEDO when they expire.

Should just liquidate them, if they're worth something.

If you are not going to renew then auction it in NamePros. Atleast you will get few $

Yes, I will probably try to bulk sell them for reg fee.

Thanks!

Seems they now add VAT to the commision - they added 20% to the commission on my recent sale. I had to query that as the documents did not specify VAT.

The final price is inclusive of VAT if the buyer and seller are from the same region, e.g. EU, US, etc.

Just keep in mind that the minimum is 60 BUT their commission is 15% meaning that it will ( obviously ) increase if you increase the price.

Overall I wouldn't be so upset really. They are still among the cheapest marketplace available and some of my best sales came from there.
