sales Has SX.com Already Been Flipped for $1.13mm?

NameSilo
You may have seen my article on Thursday about the sale of SX.com on NameJet for $555,050. The auction was won by NameJet user "first", and it turns out that the domain name may have already been resold.

In the comments section on an article from Raymond Hackney for TheDomains.com, a user said that the domain had already been sold at auction in China within 24 hours of the NameJet auction ending.

These claims come from a Chinese domain forum (the original thread is here) in which it's reported that SX.com had just been sold on Juming.com.

The NameJet auction for SX.com closed on 9th July 2015. On 10th July 2015, an auction on Juming.com for SX.com had closed with a price reported to be $1.13mm. Although bids on Juming.com's SX.com auction were confidential, the forum post mentioned above notes that SX.com's sale price at Juming.com was ¥7,010,000 CNY, which works out at around $1,130,000 USD.

If this information does turn out to be correct, then that means that whoever bought the domain name from NameJet made a profit of $574,000 (not including fees) within 24 hours. Not a bad flip.

Unfortunately, we're unlikely to be able to fully verify the SX.com sale on Juming.com but if true, SX.com would take the 2nd and 4th spot on DNJournal's Top 100 Sales Chart for 2015.

Update: @yesonline has provided a screenshot of Juming.com's auction for SX.com, complete with closing price. Take a look in the comments below.

Great flip. Just need to verify whether the domain actually resold.

The junmi.com is not a reseller but a domain agent, so while they were bidding on namejet.com for their clients in China, and also having a sync auction of this very domain at their website for domestic bidders.
I put some footnotes on this screenshot for you.

so you can assume that the buyer listed the domain for sale before gaining control of the domain? its highly unlikely that the buyer paid and got control and listed the domain in such a short period of time.

this just shows that it is getting increasingly silly to offer such LL / LLL domains on western auctions only.. better get access to the top chinese buyers via chinese brokers and/or offer it on juming etc. direct for top dollars

Great sale and flip if it's true. As another member mentioned, there's pretty much no-way the name could have been transferred before being resold. I'm guessing they contacted NameJet to make sure everything would go through before reselling? I hope so anyways, that would be a horrible sale to have fall through!

maybe its just me but to have a 'sync auction' of the domain the same time the namejet auction is happening seems unethical. what right do they have to auction a domain they don't own or have the rights to auction?

It's a business, so it's unethical.

Godaddy's expired auctions run/sell days before original/current owner can still renew the name. Is that ethical just because it's a western corporation?

Just accept it, China rules the market and western investors cannot compete. For years it was the other way...

namejet was given permission to run an auction for sx.com. did junmi.com have permission to do so as well? there is a huge difference in godaddy auctioning off expired domains...they are the registrar for them!

I don't know if you guys have ever bid against "first', but I think he's personally responsible for pushing the namejet and dropcatch markets up at least 20% this year. If he wants a name, he's never backing down. So, if they decided that this was the move they were going to make, I assume he would've spent a lot more on sx.com and wouldn't be beaten.
