I agree... but I would not count them out.
It is a very large blossoming field and they can afford to sit and wait while many take the initial losses figuring out just "what does not work" in the space before they do any R&D. Margins will be small for the first year or two.

It reminds me of the statement that google is a innovator. NOT, they are a follower bringing a price edge after the fact by bypassing copyright/patent holders. exception - GLASS

I see apple doing the same. Perhaps with iphone 7

They come sooner or later, may be called otherwise, do not believe them or that will be risking to stay out of a "possible" cake of this size.

If vr fails and all competitors fail her, nothing happens, but if it succeeds vr none of the big players can afford to be left out, because it would mean his death.

Agreed, as home VR takes off, we will see pc sales rise again I reckon. The big graphics vendors are already looking at embedding vr into the gpu so I see the market following.

Perhaps the emergence of a new "category" of pc, as gamespc, the VRpc.

I agree...
But it is going to have a larger play in the smartphone market. Once they get the gpu's up to speed. probably with a quad-core gpu, while they will be medium player on gaming but they are a great for any media out-of-the-box.
Remote viewing - movies/concert/sports and most folks carry them. a $100 add on that goes with you has a lot more appeal initially.

I think it will be a big market for both technologies. I bet by both long.

New category of PC and new category of smartphones.

I read recently they are going to send out free cardboard viewers . I'm sure there is a link but im too lazy to look for it right now..lol That's a smart way to gain traction for the Vr industry because it has to be experienced to sell it.Like a drug dealer ..first one's always free.

While Microsoft has went to some great extents to make windows 10 the OS of the next wave of tech in 3d printing and AR/VR space, don't count out the rebuttal OS that will come from the Linux crowd a year after this gets going.

If you check how closely they worked with Steam and Oculus, you understand that it was a partnership of necessity if they wanted it to work universally for the consumer. But the linux folks always pick-up where things are left out.
It is a forever evolving tech just like smartphones.

But it's not that PC's will be left out, both will be expanding and changing. There is a new need for speed for both.

I just see the smartphone market as the early lead-in.

If you are going to boast your buys and only want folks to tell you the good things you do, why do you boast. Should the dissenting just be quite. What do you learn from that?

I am not the one that will have to explain a value to the potential buyer of a name I did not buy. If you have gathered anything about what I speak of is quality investments from facts not fictional wishes..

You did say you bought it for "US" and I took that whole thing as a joke because of that statement. You should too. If you are serious, talk serious.

I have been in the field of VR at a nuts and volts level for years and my portfolio reflects that. I hope yours fairs as well. Good Luck

I had visited that site some time ago from search query.
Suspect that is where it is coming from.
I had thought of doing the same with 3dvrporn or others.
You should get this monetized before the masses really start looking for content.

Sad but true, considering the U.S boost that we're ahead of the curve in space technology we can't seem to get our rockets to achieve fight....

Does anyone actually know if that rocket was built in the U.S?

Even more disappointing is the fact they are still being used by NASA. SpaceX should have been kicked to the curb long ago.

Difficult trusting them to deliver a newspaper to the front porch after this, let alone a multibillion dollar payload to the ISS.

Still interesting VR Headsets were being included among the payload. "hey Bob check out that alien craft hovering over earth..." "nah, I'm playing with my oculus, dude..."
