I have to ask if this is true, just read it and was a little surprised as I hadn't heard a thing!

NamePros guide : How to find domain gems at the forums
Posted by DomainGang on May 22, 2015, at 4:45 pm
A few months ago, NamePros changed ownership and is currently managed by a group of Directors and its large user base boasts more than 850,000 members. Many members retain their DNF accounts as well, but engage on NamePros more often

.

this is only a clip - the article is on their link
I didn't expect to read that in this article, based on the article title.

Wonder if a Director will drop by and say the truth?

I've only seen the Senior Director on line here, and it wasn't under Eric's name - which was a bit shocking in itself

I see the big lead curtain

Who knows. That article already has a couple other factual errors in it: I never used phpBB for NamePros nor did I ever have an argument with DNF moderators. Maybe he's thinking of Domain State.

I have the feeling someone is simply trying to cause a riff of sorts

lol sounds fake to me!

yeah I thought so to but, how does this not estrange them from the domaining community?

but posting an article like this? Why? what could it possibly gain them?
If it's not true, it can't be good for business, for either of them!

it wasn't fake the last time it was reported by them!!

LOL the DNF part threw me off too!

I never looked for a retraction on the name of the forum in case it was an error....

How come nobody has answered this thread yet, they see it. A simple yay or nay would put it to bed, don't think it's a big deal. I mean, somebody already blogged about it, people are just wondering if it's true or not since some other stuff in that blog post isn't accurate, according to another post I read.

I'm still wondering why we weren't wouldn't have been made aware of any (alleged) change at the outset of the (alleged) sale/purchase. I always get a little suspicious any time an (alleged) major change like this (allegedly) happens in a less than transparent fashion.

Personally I think there should have been a banner notice across the top of the site announcing the (alleged) change with a link to additional information as to (allegedly) who, what, why and where it's going. There's nothing to hide, right?!?!?

But hey, that's just me... (allegedly)

(a) probably still in negotiations, so not public mention till finalized
(b) a blog post is being written to deny the story
(c) a blog post is being written to confirm the story
(d) (putting on my aluminum helmet) the powers that be (hands that rock the cradle) are currently writing a memo (email/skype/etc) and how to handle this thread (spin)!
(e) all posters in this thread are on the "ignore" list

Okay helmet off...

See it now;;;;
Blog post of 4 words.
Yes NP is sold.

The shortest blog post so far.

Terms of the sale were not disclosed, but insiders report the site was not sold for cash but instead changed hands for 82 godaddy coupon codes.

Edward Zeiden commented (gratefully) on the post, and didn't dispute anything. So I would guess it was sold.Since RJ left the helm, the owners have been very much in the background anyway. Still an announcement would be nice for us long-time content contributors.

Is it too late for me to make a counter-offer of 83 goadday coupons and a liter/litre of Canadian Maple Syrup?

Not the shortest by far! LOL

It is VERY, VERY RARE when there is a blog post here that actually meets the 300 minimum words. Hell, many don't even reach 150-200. ;)

Where is the comment from EZ? Am I on some kind of block list and can't see his post?

I have been known to miss something from time to time though. LOL

Yes / No / Maybe / No comment / " I refuse to answer on the grounds that it may incriminate me " / Get the frack out etc types of post would be very welcome.
Just so that we know something...

Transparency still has meaning. Just saying. RJ was open about it when he sold it.

It would be cool to have the feature that when you look at a members profile, you could see their average post/reply word count. I know of a couple (especially a couple of your fav's) that their average would be in the 1.5 - 2 word replies range. LOL
