question Regarding my info on a domain

Hi, I would like to ask the experienced users here who are familiar with domain names. Let's say I have a .com, .net or .org domain and have private whois. I don't want to continue using that domain name and want to let it expire. My question is will anyone know the details of the previous owner(me) after I discontinue to pay for it?

if you are definitely going to let it expire and drop, change the (hidden) whois info.

use something totally fake.

What difference will that make if he's got Private WHOIS on?

So I can just let it expire as is since I got private whois? Because I seen some site which has expired before and it displays a webpage asking to renew. I never checked so I don't know during this period who's info is on whois.

it's for after expiration. the OP was concerned.

having fake info eliminates the concern - solves the problem.

if it's important, fake the whois.
