Hey everyone, I wanted to request the listing of a couple domains I own. Thing is, they are asking 100$ Namerific fees and another 100$ for the designer who designs my domains logo. I checked the FAQ's yet I could not find a satisfying answer. Do I pay for the fees in advance? Or it depends whether the domain will be sold ?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Unless something got changed, all fees are paid on a successful sale.

As for how much those fees are, 30% of the sales price for Namerific fees and $100 (or more depending on how much you choose) for the logo designer..

Namerific does not charge to list domains. You pay the $100 fee out of the sale price when the domain sells.

Well I've had all refused except for 4 of them with the comment:

"Unfortunately, your domain did not get approved in the first round
of domain approvals. However, we can still list the domain for you if
you agree to subsidize the initial logo design fee of $8. Please send
$8 to our paypal email ([email protected]) if you'd like us to get
your domain live on the site. Thanks!"

So apparently this is another option now, first time I've heard of this and not sure what to think about it?

As for this option, in which a domain of mine received it as well, roughly means the domain is right between the accepted and unaccepted domains.
We can conclude from such message, that the current domain is not fully fit to Namerifics requirements, yet it possesses something that might have value in it. In other words, a fee shall be paid in order to secure Namerifics profit. In my opinion of course.

@LoneDeranger

Yes I understand what it means per se, was just trying to understand the true meaning with respect to Namerifics point of view and read between the lines as it were e.g. If the company believes there may be potential then surely they would waive the $8 design fee as they would be receiving 30% of the sale, most probably over $300; unless they refund the $8 on completion of sale. It just sounds like an insignificant and arbitrary amount; not sure if there is a genuine business reason behind it or just a way to squeeze some money out of a potential customer?

I'm happy to pay the commission and logo fee from the proceeds. What does ebrander offer? BTW I found a broken link ?
"see what we do" http://ebrander.net/brand-domains
That page can't be found.

It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try one of the links below or a search?

Changed some menu locations yesterday, thanks for the heads up for the circle widget. What I said wasn't to advertise my website, it's not finished yet/didn't write all the details, need to build a user account system, etc etc. What drove me to build this website however was those high prices from BB and Namerific.

One of my goals is to build my own brandables website. I even have the greatest domain for it. Problem is I do not know how to develop a website.. I know basic html only. With what tools you built yours if I may ask?

As a business, I can see their point - fair, one does not have to list if they do not want to but unless it is stated in terms, it is not a fair practice. What I see in most sites (high commissions, listing fees etc) - the reason could be that their sales ratio is much lower. If you look at it, as a buyer, would you be interesting in going through tens and hundreds of domains to see if you like a name. That is especially true for 'brandable' names as you cannot search on them and you really cannot categorize them. Tough market for domain sellers and companies like brandbucket/brandroot/namerific etc.

I use Wordpress (like 1/4 of internet). There's a bit of php coding in my website, but Wordpress takes care of most of it.

So if I wish to start building, how would you recommend me to start?

I can understand why the established sites take a commision but 30% seems high when considering we have to pay $100 for logo as well which can be done easily for $15-$20 privately. I see alot of people who are into "brandables" like myself setting up there own website which makes sense but the problem is how much reach do people get with respect to marketing?...

Why not get 10 people together who are all into "brandables" and work together on the same site? For instance I've never built a website before but have experience in sales and marketing so we would just utilise each others skill set to take advantage of power in numbers, 10 x the marketing, 10 x the backlinks, 10 x the social media posts...thoughts?
