I'm pretty sure there has not been a live auction in many years and there may already be a thread about this...

How about a live auction in the chat room like the old days?

Monthly or Seasonally?

The format we used to use was solid. I remember there being auctions with quality names and decent bidding wars.

Pre-bidding up to the auction day helped things out...

What are your thoughts?

I am down for it but there has got to be some type of quality control. With some of the names I see for auction on the board it will be reallyyyyy boring and long.

Maybe every quarter again with some sort of quality control over the names

Indeed. A panel of experienced members could bravely wade through submissions and choose the top 50 to 100 auctions.

Or maybe just allow 1 domain lot (1 domain or batch of domains) per member per month? I would really like to see the auctions again.

This is a topic that has gone back and forth for the last few years. We ran into lots of issues with the past Live Auctions, tried different systems, different quality control tactics, different procedures, etc. and each one had it's set-backs and failures.

The one system we finally got to work the best still had quality control issues + staff availability issues (With most staff being in different time zones).

We haven't completely ruled this out and will revisit the idea a bit later once we get caught up with some of our higher priority developments / additions. We still work around the clock at bettering our best and expanding into new horizons.

Thanks for understanding,
