Hello :)
Sometimes I want to welcome a new member to the forum in Introductions forum, if I have time.
This task has become increasingly more difficult in the last few weeks.
Introductions forum has too many bumped threads and lately it reached a new record of mess.

A new member who want to open a new thread on Introductions, may fear that with so many bumped threads, there is no point to post his own thread because of this mess.
He may think that his own thread will get buried with threads from January, February and early March.

Members who wish to welcome a new member who just opened a thread, have to go through dozens of old threads which got bumped to find the newer thread.

This issue is a result of members who wrongly try to increase their post and like counts with multiple bumps and spams.

IMO it shouldn't be this way.

I noticed many old threads got locked in order to prevent this from occurring.
But it is only matter of time until there will be many threads that members can bump and create a new anarchy.
My recommendation: Add a new forum setting that threads on Introductions forum can't be bumped by anyone after 1 week has passed since last post or something similar.

Thanks.

Simple....
Avoid the introductions forum if it is too hard for you to keep up with.
I do except for my own thread there.

All forums have the same sorting options, which you can access by clicking the headers.

To draw more attention to this, I've added a more noticeable option to the top of the Introductions forum:

Hope this helps!

This is a great addition and it is already working perfectly in sorting out the new threads(new intros)
from the old threads(old intros).
It helps a lot.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. I would like to confirm as a moderator of this section I do close threads that have not been posted in for a month to keep it as present as possible. I like to see new members make themselves known in that section and I like the way our members welcome newcomers but that is just me :) I do understand your point and thank you @Eric_Lyon for the new addition.
