The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I have signed up and believe the platform has a great future. The leasing option given to potential clients is great. However, there are a few things that need to be improved, corrected or clarified.

Since the sites are attached to Agreed.com as an escrow service, but the minimum transaction fee on Agreed is $25, this makes it impossible to lease lower value domains. I think for the leasing option, they should add a script that facilitates this, probably giving you the option to use PayPal.

There are a few more things, but I have contacted NameInvestors.com for support and they are working on them. So far, they have responded in a timely and professional manner. Hopefully, things are going to be corrected soon.

According to the comments I have read in reaction to this service, many domainers like the idea of using the platform, therefere, NameInvestors should react quickly so they take advantage of the enthusiasm.

One thing I've worked out how to do is link all my domains listed on i3dprinting.com to their corresponding sales lander pages, ie:

3dprintworks.com

3dprintability.com

Basically, I copy and paste the sales page web address into the forwarding section of each corresponding domain within my godaddy account.

I like this as it offers a potential buyer to instantly purchase my domain but also browse through the rest of my portfolio. I'm trying it for a month, if no sales, back to DomainNameSales.com....

Great suggestion. It makes for the perfect landing page. I will do it with my names. It is a lot of work, since I have a few hundred names listed, but hopefully it will expedite sales.

I figured this out too, but i wished there was a way to do this in mass. Otherwise if you have a large selection of domains, then you'll have to manually do it one at a time. They allow you to change nameservers to use their landing pages, but that greatly reduces traffic to your website and views to your portfolio. Basically it makes having the site useless. Lets see if this is worth the $10.

Totally agree. They're close to offering the perfect package but with a couple of flaws that could put people off. Personally I'd rather the service was free with a nominal small commission on each sale.

One question, have you figured out exactly where a buyer will be taken when he puts a domain on his shopping cart? Yes, I know it is connected to Agreed.com escrow, but how is that purchase linked to the domainer's account with Agreed?

I'm not sure, but I just signed up on agreed.com and they track transactions using the email address you signed up with. So I figure you would have to use the same email address to sign up for the domain store and agreed.com. Does anyone still have a domain pointing to one of their landing pages? Please shareit,i want to check something real quick. thanks

So basically you're paying $10/month for hosting; in which you may already have, for a WordPress template that links to an Escrow service for domain names that you own in which you could create a new post/page for on your own installation of WordPress? O_o

And $10/mo is $120 for the year, so essentially, you're paying nearly 4 times what a theme without branding like this would cost?

Some details I'd like to point out, if they're not obvious enough:
  1. You are giving them back link juice with branding (at the very bottom) with a link that is not "nofollow".
  2. Advertising eNom and not getting your affiliate link served when someone wants to register a new domain.
  3. Automatically being endorsed by "domaining.com". Don't see the endorsement, nor do I see domaining.com linking to you. What is the true benefit of that?
  4. Your site is utilizing a mailto: link to contact you, which is surely going to be scraped, leading to you spammed.
  5. There is a mailing list, but are these your dedicated subscribers or are they being shared with the parent host to "spam" as well? ("These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us.", who is 'us'? Is it 3dprinting or nameinvestors?)
  6. You have a Page Speed of 45 mobile / 51 desktop, indicating to Google that there may be a poor user experience.
  7. Quite possibly using an affiliate link with Agreed where the buyer (or seller) pays fees, but is it yours? Do you benefit from a transaction in reduced commission? Who is getting the money?
  8. When a user signs up, do they "sign up" to everyone using the nameinvestors platform? Could this quite possibly make others peak around different storefronts?
Tell me how this service is worth $10/month... unless you can make $120/year on top of the profit (as direct costs are subtracted via affiliate escrow service fees) and it really saves you 20 minutes of work by using it?

There are templates created that are for sale less than this. In addition to that, the ecourse training can be found on this forum with research.

This is a "cheap" way out of a cPanel 1 click WordPress install, theme upload, configuration and then "Create Post" from there on out. Unless you have 1000 domains and want to "bulk create" posts. However, that is possible to do with a template and basic PHP/MySQL knowledge.

On their page they advertise this:
No More HTML coding - Really? You never put a single line of HTML in your design?
No More spreadsheets - Really? You should always keep spreadsheets, improve on your skills as this is the fundamentals of accounting (be it inventory or money)
No More missed inquiries - Really? When did you ever miss one? Are they going to call you on vacation?
No More Hosting - Really? They going to host your other websites too?
No More Commissions - Really? This must answer one bullet I pointed out. Buyer pays fees, but you don't get commission on the Agreed deal, do you?

Quit taking the easy way out, design a nice site on your own using a domaining template someone has already created (can't recall who...) and let that be the foundation of your learning to create minisites in order to rank for long tail [keywords], thus receiving a greater passive income.

You make it sound so easy! Personally I don't have the time nor the inclination to start designing my own site. I like what they've come up with but obviously the proof in the pudding will be achieving some sales over the next few weeks...or not. I'll send the guys at NameInvestors the link to this page to see if they can include some feedback to the points you've made. I really like DomainNameSales.com but I'm also willing to try other avenues should it be effective in liquidating some of my stock....

I agree for the most part, I've wasted money on wordpress themes trying to created a shop and portfolio, but to no avail. If this doesn't work out then I'll still try that route. Other domain related themes or scripts on the market are few and do not look too professional. I am not saying NameInvestors.com is the ultimate solution, but it deserves a chance..at least a trial. We have sedo and all these other marketplace who never think of the domainers to create something like this. The platform isn't close to perfect, but they are making improvements, based on what we bring to them. I've seen them make changes the same day complaints were made on DomainInvesting.com. At the end of the day, only sales will determine if a domainer stays with them. If you make $5000, I'm sure $10 won't be that big of a dent. Not everyone can start a website and impliment agreedcom or escrow.com or a lease option in a shopping cart system. Do send NameInvestors.com the link, because that might result in a better product.

For a mere 4 months of payment, you can install Domanja (not the best portfolio script out there, but the easiest to work with as it's a theme for WordPress) on your own installation. Build outward from there slowly and learn HTML/CSS while you progress in the industry or you will be lost.

Ask yourself, do you want the money or give someone money to host WordPress for you and give you 10 free lessons that you can learn by reading forums?

Education is power, and these forums are full of it. Years of it.

If setting up a portfolio is so hard, just use Sedo marketplace then. You're only hurting yourself by using the same name servers as hundreds of other people with "spammy" sites as they are all domaining ecommerce storefronts, look the same, etc. but just selling a different "product". Do you think your store is going to rank above all others?

Well, if you answered yes to the question above and don't care about where your money is going and what it's actually getting you (is your money working for you or are you working for your money), you shouldn't be in this industry.

Domaining is more complex than just buying and selling domain names. Surely those 10 free lessons taught you that, while cross-selling you other products, ultimately making you a big loser in the end.

There's parking and development as well. When you don't have time to shuffle all of your sites around, you're losing money. If you think a simple $10/mo store will help you make a sale, you're only putting $10 into someone else's pocket as you're most likely not going to get a sale listing it on their platform, if you can't get one on Sedo, other marketplaces or even this forum.

Ten bucks can buy you a couple domains a month (with coupons, or one without). Use your $10 wisely, buy the $40 theme and setup your own hosted storefront. After you break even in 4 months using a theme, that is.

Hosting your own store puts you in control of what links go where, list domains you don't even own to go through your Sedo affiliate link and make commission off the sale(s) and even implement a search box for domains to register if they can't find one they don't like on your page, getting you commission when someone registers a new name (or a Sedo search for an even higher commission).

I will put $40 on the table right now and bet that you will gain more organic traffic if you setup your own storefront with this script or even list your names one by one using the pre-built WordPress Twenty Fourteen theme with detailed listings that Domanja does (see samples). At least there will be transparency as you can see exactly how many people went to each page, collect your own leads (where are the rest of the emails going I wonder?), etc.

Escrow is going to be hell no matter how you look at it with pushes and verification. I bet they're not pushing to Agreed for you, so you're doing some work. Push it to Agreed or Escrow.com yourself.

It's just as simple as forwarding your pages now.

Ante up $40 now and learn more over 4 months than you ever thought imaginable; most likely making your first sale. Or sit, wait and keep dishing out the tenner till you get a sale. I'm sure at that point, the $120 may be nothing (unless your names are pigeon wank and won't sell no matter where they're listed).

This was fairly long so I'll end with this:
1) If your domains are junk, they're going to end up costing you (you will never sell them)
2) If you can't sell a domain on Sedo, other aftermarkets or even this forum, that gives you an indication this will not help you
3) You can pay $40 for your own theme and make money off it through various methods other than selling a domain. To name a few: Adsense, registrar affiliates, commission from selling other peoples' domains listed on Sedo, etc.
4) Tell me in 4 months what progress you've made spending $40 for the same thing you can do on your own without someone to hold your hand.
5) If you want someone to hold your hand, I'll install WordPress and give you a tutorial how to make a post for $10. (Not really, I'm not that cheap) O_o

Good luck trying to make a sale on a "new" platform!

Really, you just got sold.

@rivey001 you are correct, you can add your agreed.com (& escrow.com shortly) account to the backend. Our external lander is here http://financialplannerchicago.com/

@infosec3 from the checkout, the buyer is taken to a thank you page. We commence the transaction into agreed/escrow, then their process begins by communicating with the buyer and seller as per normal.

Great feedback, as a result, we began changing our process to implement a credit card merchant rather than agreed.com for the leasing component. There is no mimimum transaction fee and this will be live in a few days.

@David Walker, we appreciate you taking the time to review our product, feedback is the only way we can improve our offering, so thank you. If you are comfortable to share it here, I’d really be interested to take a look at what you have done with wordpress and domainja as it looks interesting!

In response to your comments, we also subscribe to the theory that “time is money”, so your quote is the essence of why we built nameinvestors:

"If you want someone to hold your hand, I'll install Wordpress and give you a tutorial how to make a post for $10. (Not really, Im not that cheap)"

Our value proposition is to save costs, save time, improve professionalism and ultimately achieve a better ROI, and this has already resonated with a number of successful domainers who have transitioned from their wordpress website to our platform including www.showcasemanager.com which was built in less than 2 minutes.

Why have they done that? Its because even though they may have PHP/SQL/Design skills, they will certainly spend more than "20 minutes" developing, managing and maintaining their domain shop. So they understand that they can leverage our tech dept for $99 yr/$9.99 mth with hosting!!

They email us, we fix it, they request it, we build it.

Point in case, if you revisit the link you provided earlier, you will see the results have already improved
Page Speed of 70 mobile / 87 desktop - our users have benefited from this improvement whilst they were busy doing other more interesting things than website optimization. :)

"Quit taking the easy way out" is the exact opposite of our vision, we actually want our users to make the "smart" decision to "make their lives easier" so they can spend more time doing more profitable or enjoyable activities. Poor quality domains don't sell, we all agree with that, and our platform makes no claims to the contrary.

We have a 7 day FREE trial if you would actually like to experience the benefits and efficiency of the platform, we welcome you to do so and provide us some informed feedback about how we can build in more value. We have an exciting development path ahead including an affiliate network, registrar reseller services and a blog, all of which we see as driving additional revenue and sales for our users.

Best wishes

@Troy Rushton
Can you make a way for us to upload logos for each domain name that shows on the main page under premium domain or on the sale page you see after you click on a name? The images on the main page would all be the same size etc..See attached file: np.jpg

I think this would improve sales and make each site more personable..
Also...forgot my last question...

@rivey001, you want the option to add a logo instead of the image right?

Yes, that too. But also for all the domains that show on the main page under Premium Domains. That section does not have any image. See the attached image in the previous post.

Regarding some of the criticism of the Domain Shop platform, I suppose a skilled web developer can produce something comparable but I am not a skilled website developer. I have used XSitePro2 to launch a number of sites (including domain portfolio sites) but they tend to look somewhat amateurish and I can only update them on an old desktop computer which is now very slow. Thoroughly learning Wordpress or Joomla is not a two-hour process and even then there are numerous stories of Wordpress sites getting hacked and the hassles of having to upgrade to the newest version ( a big waste of time IMO). I have already had a one on one phone conversation with the CEO of the company regarding some issues I was having with the site. How often does a company's CEO call a customer paying $10/month to help resolve website issues? I believe the platform has great potential though yes low-quality domains are not going to sell at inflated prices merely because of fancy graphics / website design.

@Troy Rushton
Another thing I would like to be able to do on the home page(under premium domains) is the option to list the domains in the order I want. I want the best names only to be seen on the home page. Is there a way to do this already?

Hi Troy - not high priority but I believe it would be nice to present the domain names in bold typeface particularly since the prices are bold.

I would agree with rivey that it would be nice to have more control over which domains appear on the landing page. In some cases I actually removed the For Sale status on a few lower quality domains so that they would not appear on the home page under the Premium Domains section.
