Is anyone familiar with registrar BigRock.com?

I recently backordered a domain at SnapNames. The domain I won is at BigRock.com. I did not realize it when backordering the domain. They automatically created an account for me and sent me the login information so I could administer my domain.

One of the first things I noticed on BigRock is that you can not do a push of your domain on your own. There is a message saying that moving or pushing names beween accounts has been disabled. Since I am used to flipping domains by sending the client a PayPal invoice and pushing the domain immediately after payment, this is a little inconvenient for me.

Is anyone here familiar with this registrar and have you ever pushed domains there?

I think there must be some problem with your account .. otherwise domain push with big rock is as easy as Godaddy .. contact their support to solve this issue .. they have chat support as well..

I used Snapnames a few months ago and also had Big Rock as the registrar. When I called BR support to get info on transferring the domain, the guy who answered the phone was the owner of an unrelated business who said he constantly gets calls from BR customers and that he believes BR is a scam. After being unable to reach them by phone, I tried to reach BR support through the chat feature on their website several times and was not able to get through.
I don't trust them, I've changed my credit card after dealing with them and suggest transferring your domain out of there, if possible.

I hope they're not scam, but to refer a company that lists the phone number of another business as their own "very very reliable company" you got to be kidding.

If it is so. Report the problem about the invalid phone numbers to there support, provide a screen shot if you can.
Big Rock is a serious company among the top registrar's I must say. There support is great. If you want to push domains you have to call them or mail them about it. Thats what i think how they do now or may be currently.
Hope u get your problem solved.

A few years ago, I had one domain there from a backorder, and the only thing I remember was the absolute nightmare to transfer the domain away. Unreachable support and no response to emails.
End up dropping the domain.

If you have some love for the domains, your time, and sanity, just stay away from: BigRock, 1and1, EasySpace, Register.com
I personally had terrible experiences in the past on all of those.

you just need to contact support to do the push which unfortunately can mean a day or so before it happens but i've done it before with no problems.

show me a company that has 50,000+ customers and ill show you a company that has many unhappy customers, its just the way it is, your experience cannot be the common experience and the same companies you feel are great someone will tell you they had a bad experience

Easy transfer out

Funding account was not difficult, but a pain considering there not much of a reason to keep names there

Funding account is much easier than eNom, IMO.

Don't think I've ever done a transfer out or push at BigRock, but otherwise my experience with them has been a good one.

HI infosec3,

You can defintely move your domain name to another account within BigRock.

However, this option is no longer available in the BigRock Control Panel.

You just need to drop in an email to the compliance team ([email protected]) with the following details:
1. Destination Customer ID
2. Destination Customer Username
3. Your Account PIN

You can Read More on the following link - http://no_url_shorteners/1fLweHY

Hi RU,

Thanks for pointing that out.

We've reached out to the developers for the issue and the issue was resolved on the same day.

Do get in touch if you are still able to replicate the error.

Good Day!

Hi Noble,
The BigRock team just helped me out with a push between user accounts, and I must say they were very responsive and quite fast in getting the job done. I was impressed. Many thanks!

Update: Since I initiated the thread, I wanted to mention that I have nothing bad to say about the company, since my experience with them is limited to having had just one domain with them for about 60 days.

However, I ended up transfering my domain to Godaddy. BigRock may be a great company. I do not know, but I do not like the fact that for a simple domain push you have to contact support. You cannot do it on your own.

I am used to selling domain names and all I need is a 15 minute session with the end-user for him to pay and for me to push the domain to his Godaddy account. With BigRock I would not be able to do that. That is my business model, so BigRock does not work for me. Maybe it works for many other people.

Thanks for all the responses.

Yes you can push by submitting a ticket to support. I've flipped many like this on BigRock.

Also stay away from Yahoo! and Network Solutions.

I personally have good experience with BR but they don't provide domain push service (I was unable to find it) and the rates are little bit cheaper than Godaddy.
Interface is better than GD.
