What do you think of musique.com?

I think your site is awesome - and the domain is a good fit. There must be a market for this, especially with internet-connected TVs.

Monetizing is easy - just offer more tunes/pics/features.

The hard part would be music rights and getting enough tracks. And you'd want to categorize them by mood.

Great website, really simple, and also a great selection of songs. Your developer has done a good job.

Congrats! A very nice and peaceful website; images and sound go extremely well together.

If I can just make one critique is that the image takes a while to load for poor people like me ( and the majority of Australia.... ) with a crappy connection!!!!

Don't worry. You're not the first one to mention that. I'm assuming you're talking about mobile right?

If so, I need to ask a question. Do you yourself particularly care about being able to change the image background for mobile? If I get enough people to say that it doesn't matter, I will heavily consider removing it for mobile.

well.....errrrrrrrrmmmmmm....unfortunately I am NOT talking about a mobile. ADSL connections in Australia are something close to unbelievable!!!!!!

I was just wondering how you will monetize it.. I am going in that direction too with some of my names and I would like to know about your plans!

Advertising, selling songs via the site (making deals with people and taking a cut? that's one option), membership system where people can create their own playlist, add their own images, and even maybe sell their own music (!!!!) and kind of have their own subdomain site at like photonmymind.musique.com which is public to all. The possibilities are endless once there is a substantial amount of traffic. What you think? You have any monetization plans in mind?

Great idea! Compete with iTunes, Beats, Spotify! Maybe go after SoundCloud while you're at it. Call up Justin and see if he'll give you a good deal on the MySpace codebase. Don't forget to get in touch with dotMusic.

Definitely. Just rang up Justin and he said everything is A.OK. Also just got in touch with dotMusic. I had to dig deep to find them deep down in their dark soggy grave but I finally got to them. They said they'll probably work out a deal with me. I'm definitely going after SoundCloud. And iTunes, Beats, and Spotify? Pshhtt. I eat them for breakfast.

Well...the idea is good but you are competing with giants! I think if you want to have a chance you will have to find a very very specific niche..a niche in the niche.

I like the domain name as well as the nice clean design.
I think you have a great idea however I have a few recommendations.

1. You should add a description meta tag. Optimizing this could improve click through with your organic results.
2. Your title tag could be improved drastically. Think Keywords and a better description of the page.
3. You should use Alt tags for all of your images.
4. Add more text at the bottom and re-think keyword integration and be sure that the text is in direct correlation with title, description, and keyword meta tags.
5. Validate Your Code! You have 88 Errors, 15 warning(s) http://validator.w3.org/
6. Adding rich snippets for music could also help your click through rate.
