Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

How to put up a bundle of domains for sale on Sedo? Please someone let me know.

Once you got an account, go under My Account > Add Domains to add your domains. It'll then ask you to set a bin or make offer.

Is there a landing template for the actual offer page, the "This premium domain is for sale!" page? From what I can see all of the templates are pages that appear before you get to this page.... which I honestly can't understand. Hoping there is a layout I can choose in Domain Management that is the offer page itself...

Thanks for any help!

I've asked before and they said there wasn't.

The best you can do is forward to the offer page itself, but if you do that, they won't consider it "parked" with them, as your nameservers will not be theirs. And subsequently, you may need to pay a higher commission if a sale results.

That's incredible. Ive always found that their "buy/makeoffer" call to action was incredibly hidden on most of the templates. Curious, which you use and think is most effective. Ive been using Lite for a long time since its the simplest, but that may not be the best choice...

To be honest I don't park much with them anymore and tinkering with the templates never helped - I find their ppc super low.

The initial reason I had asked them before was because there may be times that you don't want ads showing on a particular domain.

Anything that I still have parked now are at other providers

And yeah I would tend to agree with you, that the domain may be for sale info may be missed by some end users.

Reason being, is like the adsense-blind syndrome - if people end up seeing something enough, they just tend to ignore/miss over time. And with so many domains parked on the same type of Sedo pages, people just end up moving on.

There is a new (I dont know is it very new or not, but I just saw it recently) parking template called "for sale" or something like that, which shows big "domain for sale" text in the middle of the page. Maybe you can give it a try.

EDIT - member below me said template is called "Sales Lander"

In my case SEDO fvcked up real big.
They sold me domain a few years back for a pretty penny.
I put that name on their parking platform, and the next day I got email from them that the name is banned.
I tried to undo the deal, to negotiate with the lovely German folks from Sedo - but nah, they don't give a flying fvck.
As long as they get their bloody money that's all that counts.

Just choose the 'Sales Lander' layout. B-)

But my favorite layout is 'Phoenix Blue'. :hehe:

I like Phoenix Blue's aesthetics as well but its call to action is way to hidden.

Thanks for Sales Lander. Will be shifting all of my names at Sedo to this template. Seems to be the only one clearer advertising the for sale aspect. Thanks so much.

Using the Sales Lander page is what I've been doing.
Not enough clicks on ads to be worth optimizing for parking revenue.

I am also considering this option , sales link seems well placed to me

Anyone having a problem logging in to Sedo? I got an email last night saying there was an offer on my domain. So I visited Sedo.com (not from the link in my email, but by typing in sedo.com in my browser) and tried logging in.

But I'm not able to log in. The browser just displays the "loading" spinning wheel at the top. And after a few minutes says unable to load the page, try reloading.

I thought this might be a temporary problem with their site, but it's been doing this for a whole day now. Anyone else having this issue?

Edit:

The home page loads up fine. The problem is after I enter my login credentials in the top box.

I had just try it (via typing 'sedo.com') and found no problem at all. :cy:

Thanks for your reply. I was just able to login in a roundabout manner. I went to the support page to ask a question, then it told me to login on that page, when I tried it there I was able to login. But not from the home page.

Anyway, thanks again.

Just simply put an Ad-Blocker to your web browser. :hehe:

Or...

You can try to use your own Domain Forwarding service! B-)

For example:

...will be forwarded to this url...
http://sedo.com/search/details.php4?origin=partner&domain=GetTheFatOut.com

The url pattern:
sedo.com/search/details.php4?origin=partner&domain=GetTheFatOut.com

------------------------------------------------
And if you hates that smiling guy, just delete the 'origin=partner&' part from the url.
http://sedo.com/search/details.php4?domain=GetTheFatOut.com

The simpler url pattern:
sedo.com/search/details.php4?domain=GetTheFatOut.com

I hope it helps. :cy:
Cheers! :snaphappy:

Thanks for your efforts although i was kinda referring to the sedo settings, i am assuming most people do not have ad blockers installed so they are going to see the ads which means i might as well leave my names where they are if i cant just have a sales page

Thanks again

One problem I am having with Sedo's Buy Now option that is also connected to Godaddy's auctions is that when you want to change the price or delete the Buy Now option at Sedo for a particular domain it either doesn't change the price or delete the price on the Godaddy side and that sucks!

I dont want one price on Godaddy and another at Sedo.
I have a domain that I removed the Buy Now price yesterday at Sedo and it is still showing a Buy Now price at Godaddy.

Someone needs to look into this.

I think it's another downside of using SedoMLS. :imho:

Not to mention the 20% cut if using SedoMLS. :hehe:

Sedo got one + from me.

Have a potential non payer during 2 weeks and during 2 days I forced Sedo to cancel the transaction. Now got a message, where transfer specialist told me that he called the buyer and he told he would pay.
The word "called" is major :) Never thought they could call anybody (although my buyer is from the Germany so the call costs almost nothing)

Weird Redirects from Sedo parked name

Has anyone had this happen? First time for me.

A domain parked at Sedo that gets a few typeins suddenly redirected me when I went to the parking page. No matter what, it always redirects you to another site, some well known businesses - do they buy traffic or has Sedo been hacked?

The thing is, this means anyone who is redirected will not see that the domain is for sale.

The DNS for the domain is set to Sedo, I checked.

The redirect is a 302 and is done by nameofmydomain.com/search/redirect.php?f=http%3A%2F%2Fclicks.dm.syn.affinity.com%

Same result in another browser.

They have zero-click parking which is what this sounds like.

They redirect to various affiliate and lead programs, when there aren't other relevant ads.

Hi thanks for that. I didn't see an obvious setting for Zero Click, but I changed to page to Sales Lander and at once the domain went to the sales page. But then the for sale page also had an advert saying local slags wanted to play with me. I thought the domain was set to not show adult links... what are Sedo playing at?
