Any CMS can work well for SEO.

It's more about the content of your site and the plugins / extensions you use within the CMS.

WordPress is probably the easiest to make SEO friendly though simply because the plugins available are outstanding! All in one SEO for WordPress would be my pick. Some people prefer Yoast. They are both as good as each other!

Both Drupal and WordPress are good choices for SEO... Drupal provides powerful and cost effective solution to manage and grow Internet presence of a website. Wordpress has also got so many seo friendly plugins, useful ad ons and tools.

If you know what you're doing most CMS can be good from an SEO perspective, WP/Drupal/Joomla etc.

Personally I've stuck with WordPress because it's straight forward to use, lots of themes and plugins available which allow you to accomplish almost anything.

There are a lot of nice small CMS about, but most of them don't have the availability of plugins.

BUT, having said that, it really depends what you're looking to get out of your site.

The way Google is going we'll probably get slapped for just thinking about optimising on page SEO so looking it from that angle might not be the best way to think about it.

Just write down a few things you want your site to do .. then look for a CMS that will do them.

You will probably just end up with WordPress either way though LOL!

Honestly, it doesn't matter at all!!

There is no CMS which is "SEO friendly". I have come across this topic on many forums and everyone recommends Wordpress. But there is no proof that it will be better for SEO. Will it even service your needs?

If you are choosing a CMS for SEO purposes, you are already going astray.

Start with what your site requires. See which CMS will suit your needs.
And as with any site, update it regularly with relevant content, etc and work on SEO the proper way. There is no shortcut. Proper optimization requires time and hard work-but it will pay off. ;)

You will see that any CMS can do the job.

 Seriously? That is a free "website builder" and "hosting" service. Looks cheap and displays ads all over your site. :D I have seen members here using similar free website services. Really bad. :imho:

From the looks of that service, I would never suggest this to anybody.Customers will not take you seriously.

Literally thousands of cheap sites have been assigned the very same IP address that your site will be using with services like this. This will affect SEO!

Rather get paid hosting (it's so cheap!), create your own templates, customize everything to the theme you are going for. And if you do decide display ads, at least you get paid for it. ;)

Every CMS has it's own advantages when it comes to SEO. But, in my opinion Wordpress excels far more in comparison to others.

To help fend off the confusion, we’ve put together a list of what we feel are some of the most SEO friendly open source content management systems on the market today.

Where is this list? :p You also refer to yourself as "we"... but then you fail to post the list.

Everyone here is yapping on about about these CMSs but no one is giving reasons why "whatever" is good for SEO. Without proof, they are myth.

Why is WordPress better than Joomla, or the other way around? There must be aspects which you find are an advantage, so share them here. It will give greater insight into your reasoning. And will make for a good discussion.
