GETORG599

worked for me few days ago, brought it down to 5.99 dollars (+ free info)

Even better if you go to the cart with just the matching .info, you can then add the .org for $4.99 and still get the .info for free

How did you get VIP Status? We have couple hundred domains there but don't have any special status.
Don't you need to spend few K each month to get that or did they change it?

I see everyone is laughing but my account does in fact say I have a "VIP" account and I have a VIP Acct Executive that I work with whenever I contact GD.

Whenever I call Godaddy they always immediately say I have a VIP account and they put me through to my VIP Acct Executive Greg.

I have been working with him and only him for a couple of years now.

Godaddy makes money from domainers -- We try to sell that cheap reg to an end user, a novice who then has a brand new domain already at Godaddy. The chance is very good they will buy hosting, Search and all that junk from GD rather than moving the domain elsewhere.

It is a little like free chips at a bar.

----------------------------------

I think you get a VIP rep if you have 500 domains. The regular guys cannot even see your account if you are VIP.
Sometimes I hate to bother him, perhaps that is the idea.

Lennco, of course i belive you. I know that some people have VIP acc exec.
It was about the "express checkout" and seams like this particular feature is not dependent on your account status, but rather if you gave them your CC details and chose "express checkout" at some point in the past.

I wasn't laughing at all, currently I do not have a VIP account but it's obvious you do if they assigned you someone to oversee your account. I don't know how many names you own but in 2005 they assign me my first, as I stated, when I got up to 1,200 in my account. Virtually all of them were .coms.

I believe that month I registered somewhere around 600 alone, I had a manager until I pretty much sold all my names off and stopped domaining for a few years right around the time of the recession.

Love,
Marcia

Yea I got that from all the other post but I just wanted to make sure that you understood I wasn't BSing you and talking out of my backside :)

I'll be honest, I dont know why they assigned me a VIP account.
It just showed up one day a couple of years ago and I thought cool.
I have over 400 names currently but I would say I have bought at least another 200 over the years.

It does make it easy when I have to contact GD but other then that I dont know what else it offers. Never really looked into it :)

** Only apply's if you have 50 or more domains at godaddy.

I didn't have time to read the whole thread but here is something that has saved me a ton of money at godaddy and that is the "discount domain club". Think the cost is around $80 or so per year (you can find 5% - 15% off codes for it). This year it's saved me over $1800 in renewal fees. Besides discounts on domains it includes some other tools that you normally have to pay for like parking, auctions, and a few more.

Hope it helps someone out.

True, but remember once you enter the discount domain club, none of these coupons on this thread will work for you.

Though you can always make 2 accounts, buy domains with the promo codes there. Meanwhile you can renew the domains in the other account with the discount club membership.

I had two accounts for many years a few years back. It was not by my own doing though, they opened a second account when they won the right to takeover all of RegFly's domains (and at the time they had many) after a huge scandal that had all the makings of a made for TV movie back in I think it was 2006.

Once I told my Exec about the second, he didn't want me to have two, against GD policy, they ended up joining them.

That's not true. I remember somebody saying that before I joined, but they've always worked for me.

VIP, I think I got that when I hit around 300 domains a couple of years ago.

Express Checkout, anybody can use - http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/5625/enabling-express-checkout?pc_split_value=3

I wish I could use that when buying more than 1 domain at a time, seems it only works with 1.

GD is trying sooooo hard to not give me those free .info's...
Tried to register 16 .com's + 16 free .info's using a $7.99 coupon and I have to register them one-by-one, otherwise I'm paying $9.99 per .com. Spent 20 mins on the phone with GD support which was a waste of time.

Anyone know how to bulk-purchase .com's at a discount while still getting a free .info? Going at this one by one is painfully tedious...

I usually just add my .coms, and then go back add whatever .info names I want as a .nom.co and then click the add free info at checkout for each name and then delete the .nom.co's.

I know this might appear to take quite awhile but 20 names would normally takes less than 5 minutes.

Hope this helps.

If you join the GD Domain Club for $90/yr. you get .coms all the time for the lowest price once you login. Sometimes the discounts/email offers are lower and sometimes you are allowed to use them as a member and sometimes you are not.

I currently pay $8.29 plus icann fee to register/renew a .com without any other discount. If you plan on regging a bunch of new ones plus all of your renewals the savings add up, imo. BTW, the Deal for 3 @ $4.99ea worked and currently each additional is $7.99. Plus I took my free .info's too and didn't have to reg one at a time. :)

The membership also includes free auction membership, free premium cash parking, and free GD appraisals, not that they are accurate!

I have already saved more than the $90 this year.

Sorry for the redundancy, didn't see the post above until now about the Domain Club. Oh well!

What the hell did GoDaddy decide to do today! Charging $15 for .ORGs and $12 for .INFOs?!

The GETORG599 code worked on the .ORGs, but nothing is denting that damned .INFO.

What joker thought this was a good idea? Any suggestions for bringing that .INFO price down?

Whatever .info you're looking to purchase.

Simply add the name(s) in .nom.co, once you get to checkout select the box under "Add these matching domains" and you can buy a .info for just $2.17 or get it for 18¢ if you have a .com in your cart.

Their regular pricing is outrageous.
