Where's the outrage about that?
If he'd killed a deer or a bear would anyone care? Why is the elephant different? Not saying what he did was right, because it wasn't - very stupid move on his part, but keep it in perspective...
What about all the human atrocities that big companies do every single day, such as companies who outsource to China and elsewhere, including big name companies, including Nike, Dell and Apple. Where's the outrage about that?

That's not an atrocity, that's called a crappy job - and it's considerably better than no job. If you really want to see the Chinese suffer, just stop all outsourcing to that country. A US and EU law requiring that they be paid US level wages would do the trick.
Paying off a thuggish dictator who has destroyed his country so you can shoot an elephant - that's not an atrocity either, though it's disgraceful in any number of ways. The atrocity is that Zimbabwe had plenty of food until the farms were all seized by Mugabe (Bob's friend) and handed out to cronies who let them go fallow. Bob would have helped more Zimbabweans by shooting Mugabe instead of the elephant. Instead, he gave him money.
I understood that he did not pay a cent to kill the elephant but was "allowed" to as it is legal to kill an elephant there if they are "destroying" crops as was the case according to CNN.
"What people need to realize is that elephants become very traumatized when one of their family members is shot," Johnny Rodrigues, chairman for Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force, told Discovery News. "They have very good memories and the trauma makes them aggressive towards humans, which is dangerous for tourists."
Namecheap's reaction is admirable.
Cough, cough.
You must mean OPPORTUNISTIC.
Isn't GD up for sale? What publicity stunt is next, killing whales or putting Godaddy girls up for auction, or a mix of all that?
You can't compare Bob, to Warren Buffet or Bill Gates.
I'm waiting for a story to drop that wherever people are moving their domains too, that CEO is hunting tigers to bottle up and sell Tiger blood. People will feel kind of stupid if the CEO of their new domain registrar legally hunts as well.
I'll let ppl read this as they'd like but really, this in 100% no way makes me wanna move my GD domains. ppl need to stop being sensitive. We are talking about a MAN here, not the company. Image should in no way factor in. Look at actors and musicians: many are druggies. Britney Spears and Tom Cruise are pretty much insane but they can still perform. Should we refuse to watch a Mission: Impossible movie because of Cruise's behavior? They're not paid to be role models; they are whatever society makes them out to be. I don't care what Bob does with his time just like I don't care what others do w/ theirs. When I had hearing, I used to buy albums from Ozzy and Guns n' Roses. I never once thought about the bands' private habits. If they do their job and do it to my satisfaction, I'm happy. The same, I don't care what Bob does in his free time. GD still runs as normal. Bringing Bob's personal life into this doesn't make sense to me.
