Snapnames Aliases (Bidder nicknames)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
I always see the same people in snapnames auctions. In 8 auctions I participated, I saw richrich in all of them, fefe in 7, domainance and r250gm3 in 5. I guess these are real people who work hard checking auction lists like me. I spent a few hours checking lists. Then I pick only 1 or 2 domains and place a bid in the last minute only to see the same people in auction.

Alias - Number of auctions:
erdi 8 << that's me
richrich 8
fefe 7
domainance 5
r250gm3 5
bauer 3
evanda 3
joelee 3
maria_jose 3
mydomain 3

Do you know if these are real people, probably some big domainers who bid on a lot of auctions? I just want to know this is not some automated system that follows my moves.

Yes, fefe is real. I have talked to him through email conversation.

Caution: Use Snapnames at your own risk. My understanding is that this auction place has a history of fraudulent insider(s) who place fake bids to inflate prices while making sure to win good domains for themselves.

This could be genuine people but it is odd that I always see the exact same people in the auctions I participate. Snapnames doesn't make things easier either. On the domain details page, they don't show if there are any existing bidders. Namejet does. I wrote countless emails to snapnames for them to fix this. When I backorder a pending delete domain I would like to see if there are already bids on it. Their site is useless. Also they keep changing the join by date and time for pre-release domains.

Here is a screenshot of two different pending delete auctions that I'm participating right now. All 5 people in one auction are also present in the other auction. How does this happen? I chose these two domains out of 50.000 domains. Maybe we all use the same filtering criteria.

These two domains in the screenshot, positus dot com and caladia dot com are not domains people would normally pick out of the blue. You need to do a lot of research to come up with these specific domains. These other bidders must be doing a lot of research too.

Could Microguy be richrich?

(Probably not, but its a great tactic to scare off someone in the same auctions all the time )

"When I backorder a pending delete domain I would like to see if there are already bids on it."

I prefer NOT to see how many have placed a backorder, far better than playing follow the leader and then having to bid against the richest ones ;)

it looks funny, always same 5 bidding together :) I don't think even twins will select those same names out of thousands. Really weird, something fishy...

I dont know, I think others would bid on these also. I think your scanning process is probally similar although you will most likely take different methods to get there.
They all have been regged in different extensions, there are search results other than random social network user names for them, they have meaning in the real world in one language or another. And most importantly there are companys named after them or have the term in the company name.
While I dont run scans everyday myself this is sort of criteria I have choosen when picking fairly liquid domains up from the drop. To be quite fair these people probally use the same filtering methods as yourself and have the same opinion as yourself that for $69 they are worth a speculative punt. The reason why is I that it works and sales will be generated from them.

What I dont understand is when some of these domains reach mid/high xxx.

Do you ever keep track of what happens to these domains? I find it interesting to know who I'm bidding against/.

I agree with gazzip
