I believe many of the NPiers here host their sites with fusedhosting.net.

Frankly speaking, this hosting company used to have good support a year back.
Today, i would like to rate their support "Double Thumbs Down"!

Some of you may say that "so far OK...good support". You havent got an issue yet. If you've got an issue, then you will know...then it is too late!

Reasons:
1. They penalty you for late payment.
2. They redirect site to a temp page till your payment is made. (I am fine for this). But after you made payment, the site still redirect to a temp page. Then I submit ticket for this, it takes 3 days till now still not resolved...Should i need to penalty them back for this?

I must say that they have a very very poor support. They dont even understand what you request!
For example, you ask them 4 questions, they reply you with 2.

A late fee isn't unreasonable, but redirecting your website is. You should receive plenty of notice that fees are due and late fee notices if they apply. But your host should NEVER redirect your website because payment is late.

Most websites are used for revenue and redirecting them because payment is past due causes the website owner to possibly lose revenue and potential customers and is completely uncalled for.

I believe it's unethical to do such a thing like redirecting your site. They can have a penalty for late payment, but after payment your page is redirected, I don't think it's fair. Just keep in touch with them to resolve the issue.

I feel a web host has every right to redirect your page. At the time the page was redirected, the account was most likely overdue. Basically what they are doing is putting up an account suspended page. It is there to get the customer's attention that they need to pay for the overdue account.

However I will say there should have been plenty of notices sent to your email account telling you what the consequences were for failing to pay. If you were not sent any invoice notices via email and nothing is said about account suspensions in the terms of service, then the host may be in the wrong. But I know very few hosts that actually allow you to continue having service after an account is overdue. Now I will give you sympathy on the fact that your account has not been unsuspended after paying your bill. The support team should have acted faster to make your account active again.

You also need to realize FusedHosting is no longer what it use to be a year ago. This site has taken on new ownership since then and times have changed. There is actually a thread here about the host and its quality of service under the new owner. I suggest taking a look at it and deciding wether or not you feel the host is meeting your needs or not. That is only a decision you can make. If you are not satisfied, there are many other web hosts that I am sure would love to have your business out there. Always remember to do your homework and research companies you plan to do business with.

They didnt send me any invoice to remind me bout the payment.
Anyway, my site is up now...seems that they took 4 days to resolve my issue.
I think i am looking forward for other webhosting company.

As far as late payment fees and redirecting your site until payment is made I think it’s a more than reasonable thing to do. If this weren’t in place 90% of people wouldn’t be bothered about paying in time. If the host has to spend time chasing up late payments they won’t have time to provide a reliable service and support. Another good reason for your site being redirected is that their emails may not have reached you.

This is how our system works.

- 3 overdue emails are sent if the invoice isn’t paid.

- After 5 days a late fee is applied to the invoice.

- After 7 days the account is suspended (as what has happened to you) and the site is redirected to a friendly page that asks the owner to contact support. I will admit that some companies do not have a friendly suspended page.

- If payment has not been made after 30 days the account is terminated.

At the end of a day a web host is trying to run a business. Although there is no excuse for bad support. If the suspended page is still showing after the invoice has been paid you will need to contact your host.

That is a bit odd that it would take them 4 days to resolve your issue - I'd imagine that billing issues should be able to be resolved almost immediately

i agree, they should be allowed to add a late fee, and put up a suspention page, but 4 days is abit long to resolve something so small...

I think you have a lot of web hosting companies to chose from if you are not satisfied with your current web hosting provider.
That is not forbiden to switch to the new web host

This is pretty bad. I can understand them taking your web hosting away and telling visitors the site has been suspended..But them redirecting your traffic is basically a blatant way of trying to make more money off of you.

They are basically saying "if you don't pay your bill, we're going to advertise on your domain and take money from your customers"..

This is extremely unethical and could even be considered cheating. Also, it makes the company look rather cheap and desperate for money. Another thing I have noticed is that they never bothered to research their name and find/respond to this thread. This looks even worse on them..
