Domain Portfolio for WordPress?

Spaceship Spaceship

Does anybody know of a good Domain Portfolio plugin for WordPress? I am using an older one I found but I need one that lists domains for sale in categories. Prefer a freebie but will consider others.

Thanks for your help!

If you want it mainly for presentation, here's an idea for handrolling a solution, which I have used for a couple of ecommerce sites:

1) Hybrid framework by Justin Tadlock

2) Critical child theme, also by Tadlock

Used in conjunction, Hybrid and Critical create a very cool structure for the site, but one which is virtually unstyled -- it's a blank white slate when you first load it up. But the advantage to having to do the CSS yourself is that if there's nothing you're replacing, there's nothing to screw up.

3) Simple Taxonomies plugin by Yoast. This enables you to create custom taxonomies on the fly. Taxonomies are really the way to go when it comes to selling virtually anything on a WP site, because an unlimited number of different aspects of the product can be addressed, and they are all searchable. Meaning -- you can arrange your domains by category ("short," "geo," "porn," etc.) but then have taxonomies added that are independent of category and much more powerful than tags (extending the example of a domain site, "traffic," "revenue," "age," etc.)

Each taxonomy can be made into a tag cloud, so buyers can quickly go to the feature that matters to them the most and find domains across all categories that meet their parameters. This is why taxonomies are so powerful for ecommerce on WP, and it baffles me that so few people seem to use them.

4) Simple PayPal Shopping Cart which is just completely badass as far as WP shopping cart options go. Super easy to configure, lots of options for customisation, etc.

If you check my link, I'm using markettheme for wordpress. It's not free, but it handles categories, and has a useful search funtion.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will check out markettheme. It looks good for selling products.

I would still rather find a WP plugin. The one I am using is called "Domain Portfolio for Wordpress" but it does not have a category option.

This thread motivated me to do a little digging for a simpler way to build an inventory ... this plugin is an inventory manager designed for car dealers, and being just a single PHP file it is extremely easy to customise. What I personally dislike about it is that each entry is a new WP post, which is simply not how I want to display my names (I hacked around a little with making a category page the display for the inventory, and other ideas, but everything that turned up was clumsy in execution.)

I'm looking at something else though, which the Get Custom Fields plugin that is required by the auto dealer inventory plugin inspired me to try. Will post up some results as I generate them.

Try Domanja.com, it provides a marketplace as well for your domains. It's brand new, and imo it's the best out there.

I agree. Would love to see more themes for domainers - I've been searching all day and haven't found much I've liked. It would be more beneficial if we were able to put logos up similar to namerific or brandbucket. I feel like this could help with sales.

Is there no better solution than a one man plugin? It's to risky with Wordpress as CMS. Is there no popular plugin that you easily can convert to a domain portfolio?

I did use Domanja as stated earlier and thinking of going back to them for a new site. I want to build my brand for 2015 but my things is this . I took a look at other portfolio websites on Domaining.com (bottom of the page) and most of the heavy hitters really have ugly sites AND on top of that the names are listed there BUT they are also parked.

My thing is that I think that if you type in my domain name it should take you to my own listing from my own site NOT a parked page. I know they want that parked revenue but it seems to me if you have a portfolio site shouldnt the domain come back to that portfolio and not some other landing page?
