from EuroDNS (EuroDNS) on Twitter - "Pre-register .eu IDNs for only 9 Euros at EuroDNS! Use the promocode: 9EU9, valid until December 10th.First-come, first-served, get it now!"

Domain Name Registration, Domain Transfers. Search and register European Domains and domain names of the world. Free domain DNS and free Email services included. - EuroDNS SA

see theres some single letter ones like ä.eu, à.eu, â.eu, é.eu, û.eu etc available, dont think i'll bother but if its any use to someone...

also a couple like zéro.eu (zero in french) and grün.eu (green in german) available, amongst quite a lot of others i'd think, prob be worth the 9 euro

ended up going for quite a few of these, but now noticing the level of promotion sedo.com/euIDN are doing on homepage etc i'm doubtful i'll see any of them successfully registered...

"euIDN Advance Order

Welcome to the advance ordering service for internationalized .eu domains.

Please enter your preferred domain into this field and Sedo will try to pre-register these domains for you.

Here is how you can become the owner of this domain:
If we are able to successfully register the domain on your behalf on 10th December 2009, the domain will automatically appear in the special auction on 11th December. The domain will then be sold to the highest bidder when the auction ends on17th December.
Should you be the first person to order this domain (which you can see by the appearance of a green tick) and the only bidder in the auction, the domain will be yours for only €99.
Should there already be another interested party for this domain (which you can see by the appearance of a red cross), you will have the chance to bid on the domain throughout the special auction.

In any case, you will be informed via email about the start of the special auction for any domains you have placed the advance order for.
To our FAQ’s

To inspire you, here are a few suggestions from our database: IDN.csv"

https://www.sedo.co.uk/member/eu/IDN.csv suggests over 18,000 IDN terms. wouldn't much fancy just suggesting a name then paying €99 if you're the only one interested, or it goes to an auction and could cost more.

URLmad.com - there are other providers you can order them through. Name.com is taking only one order for a name and if we get it - it's yours.

cool, name.com's pricing certainly looks better, if i get full refund in cash instead of account credit from eurodns i'll head there and try pick some up, managed to get 7 of 26 (will hopefully be able to see the sedo auctions to get an idea on pricing) went french since i think .de already does IDN;

allô.eu - hello! (for/on phones)
çava.eu - okay / all right!
écoute.eu - listen
hypermarché.eu - hypermarket
mél.eu - email (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/mél)
mélomane.eu - music lover / music / musical
plaît.eu - please

many others get some?

Competition was ridiculous. Ah well!

Lots of the other IDN landrushes (like .biz and org--with Asian/Latin languages) were a hell of a lot easier to pick up some decent domains in other languages. This time? Whoa.

To quote Yogi Berra, it is dejavue all over again. :) Though it does say a lot about how the global brands consider .eu ccTLD.

Regards...jmcc

You are assuming that they even knew there was an idn.eu landrush and that idn even exist when most domainers are /were not even aware.

If they want them they will not have much trouble getting them will they? :gl:

True. :) The whole .eu mess means that most people just ignore .eu here in Europe. Had the regulations been drafted by people with a knowledge of the domain industry rather than a by a bunch of political flunkies, then .eu could have been a great ccTLD. As it stands, the .eu ccTLD is dead in the English speaking areas of Europe and only the German registrations are keeping it viable. It has, to some extent, replaced the .com in some of the newer Eastern European states but it really hasn't made much of an impact against the strong ccTLDs.

If they want them they will not have much trouble getting them will they? :gl:
They probably won't even bother. :)

Regards...jmcc
